Turkovsky District (Russian: Турковский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[7] district (raion), one of the thirty-eight in Saratov Oblast, Russia. It is located in the northwest of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,400 square kilometers (540 sq mi).[3] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Turki.[2] Population: 12,834 (2010 Census);[4] 15,852 (2002 Census);[10] 18,409 (1989 Soviet census).[11] The population of Turki accounts for 47.7% of the district's total population.[4]
