Rovensky District (Russian: Ровенский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[7] district (raion), one of the thirty-eight in Saratov Oblast, Russia. It is located in the south of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,100 square kilometers (810 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Rovnoye.[2] Population: 16,654 (2010 Census);[4] 18,329 (2002 Census);[10] 18,275 (1989 Soviet census).[11] The population of Rovnoye accounts for 27.2% of the district's total population.[4]
