Pitersky District (Russian: Питерский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[6] district (raion), one of the thirty-eight in Saratov Oblast, Russia. It is located in the south of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,600 square kilometers (1,000 sq mi).[3] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Piterka.[2] Population: 18,054 (2010 Census);[4] 19,581 (2002 Census);[9] 18,801 (1989 Soviet census).[10] The population of the administrative center accounts for 30.1% of the district's total population.[4]
