Unfortunately, it is my time to say good bye. Due to recent drama (whether it may be onwiki, or irc etc I am parting from IRC, wiki and everywhere else. I want to thank the community for a fun filled year or so. Thank you, and cheers. ѕwirlвoy₪02:44, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hi SwirlBoy39, welcome to Simple English Wikipedia! Thank you for your changes.
If you need help, check out the Help section of Wikipedia, or leave a message on my talk page.
Whenever leaving messages on talk pages, please remember to sign your name by typing four 'tildes' (like this: ~~~~); doing this makes your name and the date show up. Also, it helps if you write something in the box that says 'edit summary' whenever you change an article.
Below are some useful links to make your time here simpler.
If you make a short article please mark it with ((stub)), our guideline is here: Stubs
Hey there, your edits seem pretty good so far. Don't forget to categorize articles you create. If you can't find a category, then add ((uncat)) to the page. Keep up the good work. Lights § talk 22:58, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think this might be what you want. For an RFA, three months is preferred, with several hundred edits (but most users prefer at least 1,000 edits). I would recommend waiting until the end of April/beginning of May to start an RFA. Lights § talk 00:25, 4 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
We generally don't tell the IP addresses that they've been reported on the ViP. We let them figure it out for themselves the hard way. Also, can you please use the subst: feature when you warn a user? Razorflame21:20, 4 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
When welcoming users, please wait until they make their first edit, so you know the user you're welcoming is not a vandal. Thanks!-- Lights talk 00:10, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Don't forget to tag the userspace redirects that you create by moving articles from your userspace to the mainspace for deletion. Razorflame20:40, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
When you move an article from your userspace to the main space, you need to put a ((QD)) tag on the redirect page in your userspace so an admin can find and delete the unneeded redirect. -- Creol(talk) 23:16, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm asking if you would put the QD tag on the userspace page because it is an unneeded redirect to the mainspace article. Razorflame14:51, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I dislike the use of the ViP page for the most part. On this wiki it isn't needed unless someone goes on a big vandalism spree. Otherwise, an administrator is going to see the problem when they go through the new changes. We all look over the new changes for gaps, etc. where admins weren't on in real time. The user names are going to stick out like sore thumbs on the new changes page. Unless those names start vandalizing page after page, no ViP report is needed. Usually what happens is an admin is trying to clean up the mess and then someone makes a ViP report and clogs up the new changes page, and then we lose track of where we were. It creates a waste of time. It is inefficient and only delayed me taking care of the problem. - EchoBravo contribs 22:02, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I am just enquiring why you said in my RFA something like "We'd better not risk it" or something along those lines, when... You find a user, who is more notoriously banned on en:wiki and blocked over here and then make him admin on your PBS wiki, is thta a risk you're willing to take? I have been indef blocked on en:wiki, which i partly blame on peer pressure and bad influence. I have also been blocked here 2 times, but these blockes were only whilst user:Benniguy was here, I do not blame it all on the influence of him, but alot of it, because if it wasn't due to his influence, then surely i would be continuing to recieve blocks now, but i have not recieved one since he has been gone.
Why would you risk benjamin, but not myslef?
My first block was for insulkting Gwib, but, in my opinion, I was provoked - there was a falling out over the way in which I worship, but i am pleased to say that that issue has now been resolved. The other time was when myself and Benniguy were being a bit silly under the influence of each other and a bit of alcahol.
There is one more block, but that was by mistake, as if you ask Tygrr, she will tell you.
I cannot justify my silly behavoir for my last block or any of my behavior over at en:wiki, except for peer pressure and under bad influence, but I cannot blame entirely on that. But, as you may have noticed, this is not en:wiki.
To be completely honest, I knew 100% that when i requested admin, i would not get it, and i did not expect a single support. I only did it so i could recieve constructive critisism fo what to imporiove on for the future. So, Thank you very much for your comment "We'd better not risk it" because that is complete;y the constructive critism i was looking for, you have told me exactly what i can do in the future to becoime a better admin and be prepared for adminship, thank you so much! <- That was sarcasm.
Thank you for voting in my RfA, which ended unsuccessfully with 59% support. I found this Request for adminship to be extremely helpful in learning what I need to work on now and I appreciate your vote in my RfA, as every vote that was posted helped me learn a little bit more about myself and the work I do here on the Simple English Wikipedia. Even though the RfA failed, I still thought it to be an extremely successful RfA and I hope to show you what I can do now. Cheers, Razorflame21:01, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Why did you welcome this user when you just finished making a revert of this user? Do you think you could only welcome users who make helpful contributions in the future? Thanks, Razorflame21:45, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I hope you don't mind that I've added you to my friends list here on the Simple English Wikipedia. You've always been a great person to talk to; usually giving my brain such a workout in terms of reasoning that I have to recharge it with Bush's Baked Beans :). Because he failed an RfA. It's quite simple - people can request to become an admin by writing a request on the correct page, and then everyone else talks about it and decides whether he should become one or not. Ultimately it is the 'crat's decision. Hope this helps, (and Swirl - hope this isn't too offensive) mC819:44, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I don't think baseball team articles need the category "baseball teams". The category already added, "Major League Baseball" team in enough The same goes with the category "Baseball". If you look at en-wikipedia, baseball team articles don't have that. -- RyanCross (talk) 03:13, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'd appreciate it if you'd look over the recent discussion at Cassandra's RFA. The majority of the opposition (upon which you based your own oppose vote) has disappeared and I think the community would appreciate it if you could clarify your position. Cheers. It is not an attack, unless the logs are falsified to make someone look bad. Don't be evasive, Swirlboy. What you just did was participate in an attack on Ric, then after the evidence is deleted by someone else, come on my talk page and warn me. To call what I did an attack to distract people from the actual attacks that you participated in on a chat channel is a dishonest thing to do, after the evidence has been flushed down the memory hole. If there is a reason other than being ashamed of what you did, it is better to explain yourself than to be dishonest and hide. I am not assuming this, this is the only reason that I can think of that you would do this. — Jonas (talk · proposal) 20:47, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

QandA
The QandA. Every month, Kennedy will interview one of Simple English Wikipedia's editors, asking them about themselves, and their opinions on Wikipedia. It is an exciting insight behind the anonymous face of an online username. Las month we debuted with Microchip08. Due up next was Shapiros10 but due to uncontrollable circumstances we have had to postpone this to next month. Instead, Bluegoblin7 takes the reigns and interviews Gwib, who kindly volunteered to keep the section in this issue. Click for his interview:
Hello SwirlBoy39. I am warning you about the Nations cup. It will be run parallel to the Wikicup you have signed up for. It will be the same points system, but you will team up with someone. Then, all the rounds will be the same as the Wikicup. It is not obligatory to sign up for the nations cup, but it is highly recommended, as if you are knocked out of one of the cups, you can remain in the other one! Please, hurry up the entry end on the 31st of December, and team up with somebody! Remember you will also have to choose a country (it doesn't have to be the same as the Wikicup one).
Hello SwirlBoy39. We have come to a conclusion after dicussing the way points should be counted. You must make a page were you keep record of your edits. It should look like this and it should be called user:SwirlBoy39/Wikicup Edit Count. It will be checked by our judges to make sure there is no cheating. If we find that there was a very large margin of error, you will be disqualified. Remember, any edit which does not figure on this page will not be counted in your final score. Thank you for your attention.

SwirlBoy39, thanks for your comments in my recent RfA which closed as 12/11 or "no consensus". I hope to work on the things that were raised and prove to the community that I am worthy of the mop, this includes showing my RL stability, that I don't have Ownership issues with DYK and also showing that I know what consensus is. Special thanks go to Kennedy for nominating me! Thanks for your comments! GoblinBot3 (talk)
