Andy, if you are so keen, then you are encouraged to make the improvements. These contributions are inferior in many ways as is being widely discussed not only by myself but others. The rest of us have day jobs, so limited time to contribute. As you probably know from your teaching experiences, repairing student essays take hours of effort and time. Sincerely said, I just dont think that these unsupervised contributions from students are of the technical or stylistic standards we are accustomed to in Wikipedia. The graphics are copyright violations, the article are often violate WP:NOTTEXTBOOK and are preachy or making value judgements. The referencing ignores WP:SECONDARY. If you find these massive additions, salvageable, then you can join the completely absent instructor in editing. We really hope that you can help with content! --Smokefoot (talk) 13:23, 16 December 2014 (UTC)
Errors:
I can fill all these in, and iI will if I think it's worth the trouble. But the only two references here that seem to actually mention shoes are the inaccessible Santa Barbara Thesis, a podiatrist's newsletter on the web, & the Staikos article from some unknown source.

Hi Pigsonthewing. After setting the merge process at paisley and buta in motion, aren't you supposed to create the initial entry in the discussion to serve as point of departure for others to then express their views and support/ oppose? I believe people need a little prodding, otherwise if they go to the discussion page and see that the discussion space has not even been initiated, they will jsut turn away? win(g) for infoboxes
Thank you for quality contributions toward "improving, standardising and rationalising templates, especially infoboxes" such as the growing one for Bach's compositions, for "gently reminding ... don't own sections of Wikipedia" to freely share in the sum of all knowledge: you are an awesome Wikipedian!

On 24 December 2014, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Paradise Circus, Birmingham, which you recently nominated. The fact was ... that Paradise is due to be demolished? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Paradise Circus, Birmingham. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Andrea Marshall, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page National Geographic. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi there. I saw your name on the Highbeam list. I didn't use my Highbeam/WP account much and let it go but do need a copy of this article for a piece I'm working on: http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1P2-259267.html Any way that I could con you into copy-pasting that into a word processor document and making that into a pdf for me? ((Infobox military person)). Can we add a "spouse=" and "children=" and "parents=" parameter? Most military people are from military families and the links would be useful. It is a standard biographical parameter. All people infoboxes were updated with the standard biographical parameters, but this one was missed. Can you take a look. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 21:04, 2 January 2015 (UTC)
Do you not care that (a) you've been ruining the layout of thousands of articles, or that (b) other people are upset by (a)? This is a matter of collegiality: you need to be able to accommodate differing opinion. You may, of course, have a legitimate reason for omitting this parameter, but you'll need to say what that is; the fact that the option's absent from Twinkle clearly isn't sufficient excuse. 213.7.227.83 (talk) 19:11, 2 January 2015 (UTC)

Hi, The pages should be ok now. I made sure to remove banners and any links to babies for sale. I even bought domain names for each of the birds so they would have their very own .com name and i would NOT have to link to my aviary site. Maybe i added the links in the wrong place? Bascially my info pages for birds are more or less online books, I see other places for more reading and on some articles even links to books and authors who discuss the subjects. Should i have added the links to a (more info) section or something else. I will go over the pages again and try adding them again but i think i did pretty good yesterday removing things. Thanks Sean user - Matrex01 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.186.24.251 (talk) 11:10, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
Which part of WP:ELMINOFFICIAL did you not think related to removing their Twitter? I quote from that short section of policy:
"More than one official link should be provided only when the additional links provide the reader with significant unique content and are not prominently linked from other official websites. For example, if the main page of the official website for an author contains a link to the author's blog and Twitter feed, then it is not appropriate to provide links to all three. Instead, provide only the main page of the official website in this situation."
From the same page:
best treated with common sense, and occasional exceptions may apply
Also, the page is a guideline, not a policy. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 20:48, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for your helpful comments on Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of Scheduled Monuments in South Somerset/archive1 which has now been promoted. I've now nominated List of Scheduled Monuments in North Somerset at Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of Scheduled Monuments in North Somerset/archive1 and would be grateful for any comments you might have. As you may know there is a discussion about the column widths etc on these lists at Wikipedia talk:Featured list candidates#Column widths in table layout.
