Welcome to the 2021 WikiCup!

Happy New Year and Happy New WikiCup! The competition begins today and all article creators, expanders, improvers and reviewers are welcome to take part. If you have already signed up, your submissions page can be found here. If you have not yet signed up, you can add your name here and the judges will set up your submissions page. Any questions on the rules or on anything else should be directed to one of the judges, or posted to the WikiCup talk page. Signups will close at the end of January, and the first round will end on 26 February; the 64 highest scorers at that time will move on to round 2. We thank Vanamonde93 and Godot13, who have retired as judges, and we thank them for their past dedication. The judges for the WikiCup this year are Sturmvogel 66 (talk · contribs · email) and Cwmhiraeth (talk · contribs · email). Good luck! Editor of the Week

Editor of the Week
Your ongoing efforts to improve the encyclopedia have not gone unnoticed: You have been selected as Editor of the Week in recognition of distinguished career. Thank you for the great contributions! (courtesy of the Wikipedia Editor Retention Project)

User:Girth Summit submitted the following nomination for Editor of the Week:

Harrias is a 15 year veteran with over 500 articles created and yet, in all that time, appears never to have received this award, which seems odd. He has been enormously helpful with reviewing and contributing to several articles I've written, and I see him regularly contributing to the MilHist and FAC processes. He consistently offers advice which is constructively critical, content-focussed and founded in a deep knowledge both of subject matter and wiki-savoir-faire. He is approachable and enormously helpful to new and experienced editors alike. He has taught himself .svg mapmaking in order to produce high quality maps, several of which grace FAs. He amends existing maps at short notice in order to help FAC nominators keep grouchy reviewers happy. He actively participates in the WikiCup and is a newly elected coordinator at MilHist. A truly deserving recipient. }
