Kolyshleysky District (Russian: Колышле́йский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[6] district (raion), one of the twenty-seven in Penza Oblast, Russia. It is in the south of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,685 square kilometers (651 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Kolyshley.[1] Population: 26,187 (2010 Census);[3] 27,751 (2002 Census);[8] 29,125 (1989 Soviet census).[9] The population of Kolyshley accounts for 31.7% of the district's total population.[3]
