Trosnyansky District (Russian: Троснянский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[5] district (raion), one of the twenty-four in Oryol Oblast, Russia. It is located in the southwest of the oblast. The area of the district is 769.7 square kilometers (297.2 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Trosna.[1] Population: 10,302 (2010 Census);[3] 12,453 (2002 Census);[7] 14,102 (1989 Soviet census).[8] The population of Trosna accounts for 24.6% of the district's total population.[3]
