The outcome of this request for deletion was to Delete. The template will be substituted before it is deleted.— *Fehufangą ♮ ✉ Talk page 10:07, 22 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
- Template:2020 Olympic host city selection (edit · talk · history · links · watch · logs · delete) · close request
Auntof6 has nominated this page for deletion for the reason: Nominating a template that is used in only one article, and I don't see where else it would be used. I propose moving the code into the article that uses it and deleting the template. I believe we have done this with single-use templates before. Auntof6 (talk) 05:39, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please discuss this request below, but keep in mind that you shouldn't vote on everything and that there may be options other than "keep" or "delete", such as merging.
- Subst: the template then delete. There is one other potential article that could use it but that route is very unlikely to ever happen and not worth keeping the template for that one other use. Pure Evil (talk) 07:38, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
- @Pure Evil: Out of curiosity, what is the other article? -- Auntof6 (talk) 08:19, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
- An article surrounding the history of Olympic hosts could list the results for each host selection. It would not be a needed template as the info could just be copied into the new article. I don't see that article to ever be made. Even if it was, there would no real reason to keep this (and the however many more templates for each of the other selections) But there is that one potential use..
