Pure Evil has nominated this page for deletion for the reason: I do not see anything in the article or his obit that would lead to notability. Am I missing it? Pure Evil (talk) 15:34, 2 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please discuss this request below, but keep in mind that you shouldn't vote on everything and that there may be options other than "keep" or "delete", such as merging.

@DRC-B5:, no. All articles I write at simple are “new”; none of them are articles I wrote at en-wiki. SportsOlympic (talk) 19:04, 2 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Pure Evil: yes, indeed. 99% of the articles I published at simple wiki didn’t have (at the time of writing) an en-wiki page. SportsOlympic (talk) 19:07, 2 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
When looking for info here, I centered on what was presented here (let others do that info search) and the HLN obit. Obits tend to be good at hyping up a persons notable past where they can. Looking here, I really did not see anything in the obit to base notability on. If they are praising him (that's what obits do) and they cannot list anything to support the praise, I have to question if there is anything to find. Pure Evil (talk) 03:47, 3 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Note that most of the information is not coming from the obit, but from the 2016 HLN article. SportsOlympic (talk) 10:14, 3 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The only thing I saw in there that I think is notable is 'Gouden Medaille van de Franse Republiek' (Gold Medal of the French Republic). That seems like it is notable, but it is hard to say. As it, there is little other than that award to push for notability. The rest (made lots of art, worth money, gave it all to a foundation in his name) is of questionable value. The foundation could be notable but as such this would better be merged into an article for that. I am still not seeing enough for an independent article on this person. There is also receiving "the first prize of Biesme." However, the reference for that "cannot be displayed for copyright reasons." -- Auntof6 (talk) 17:02, 14 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Reference for the French gold medal see here; it is in the article. But note Wikipedia is not about achievements but about coverage. SportsOlympic (talk) 18:28, 14 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
