  I thought it was generally agreed that everyone dies of something, but often the immediate cause is not known (that's just an amateur opinion). Here's an example: a female relative lives to 102. She dies of a fungal infection which keeps returning despite treatment. Does one list "old age" or does one list "fungal infection"? In fact the death certificate reads "natural causes" or something similar. I agree that we do have the option of a category for that, but it seems meaningless.
