 Comment: The closest we get to this is that environmental organizations in Austria, Switzerland, and Germany pick an "Animal of the Year" (see de:Tier des Jahres. For 2021: Eurasian otter for Germany, a shrimp-like crustacean living in rivers and lakes, in Switzerland (Gammarus fossarum), and the Edible dormouse for Austria. Note however, that this is at level animal, we don't get to the level butterfly, or predator...--Eptalon (talk) 09:25, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
