The outcome of this request for deletion was to Keep. No consensus to delete--BRP ever 00:48, 22 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
- User:Barliner/my boxes (edit · talk · history · links · watch · logs · delete) · close request
Auntof6 has nominated this page for deletion for the reason: Unused user subpage not edited in over 8 years. User hasn't edited here in almost 8 years. Page consists of user boxes, most of which are redlinked (which is what brought the page to my attention). Most of the non-redlinked ones are on the user's main page; this page is not transcluded there. If decision is not to delete, can we at least comment the redlinked items to stop them from appearing as wanted pages? Auntof6 (talk) 04:42, 12 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Please discuss this request below, but keep in mind that you shouldn't vote on everything and that there may be options other than "keep" or "delete", such as merging.
- I usually oppose deletion of old things for housekeeping purposes, but due to the red link issue I support deletion of this page provided they are notified on their talk page it was deleted and that they can request it back if they resume editing. Vermont (talk) 10:57, 12 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
- It turns out they're still active, but on enwiki. I still support deletion unless those pages are actually wanted. Vermont (talk) 17:16, 12 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
- I am hesitant to delete an old userspace page unless its a sandbox type page. (ie draft article) However, I won't oppose. But I must strongly indicate that we should not be removing red links from anywhere just because they show up on the wanted pages list. In fact the goal of trying to clear any of the wanted pages lists is a bad one. Unless of course you are creating the wanted page. Those wanted lists are meant to exist so that slowly as pages become more wanted they rise up the list. Removing links just to remove them from the list breaks the purpose of those pages. -DJSasso (talk) 14:33, 12 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
- For red links, can't we just remove / hide the red linked items. I am very disinclined to delete this page as this is a page from a very experienced user and I think they deserve their page to be remained intact. Keep--Cohaf (talk) 08:56, 16 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
- I think keep, but by all means comment out the red-linked items. StevenJ81 (talk) 14:40, 18 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
