Basma (Arabic: بسم, Hebrew: בסמ"ה) is an Israeli-Arab local cooncil locatit in the Wadi Ara aurie o the Haifa Destrict. The local cooncil wis formit in 1995 throu the consolidation o the veelages o Barta'a West, Ein as-Sahala, an Muawiya; Basma is an acronym o the veelages' names. Accordin tae the Israel Central Bureau o Statistics, the locality haed a population o 7,900 at the end o 2005.[1]
As o the census o 2008, Basma haed 7,600 residents, o whom 99.8% wur Muslim.
