Zverinogolovsky District (Russian: Звериноголовский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[3] district (raion), one of the twenty-four in Kurgan Oblast, Russia. It is located in the south of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,400 square kilometers (540 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Zverinogolovskoye.[1] Population: 9,518 (2010 Russian census);[2] 11,755 (2002 Census).[5] The population of Zverinogolovskoye accounts for 42.7% of the district's total population.[5]
