Changed typo

[edit]

I boldly changed a funny typo (mob/mop) in Femke's co-nom in order to avoid derailing rest of Femke's well-roded nom. They thanked me, so safe to assume it was appreciated, even if the mob™️ is now disappointed. Just stating that here for transparency, given how much scrutiny and stress RfA bring. ~ 🦝 Shushugah (he/him • talk) 11:50, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Shushugah: Don't worry, none have been harmed or killed while in the witness protection program since 1971. Polygnotus (talk) 14:11, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sure if anyone had been, it would have been immediately disclosed and widely reported! Folly Mox (talk) 20:57, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Chaucer and the Revolutionaries

[edit]

What would Geoffrey Chaucer have said or written about the Communards and the Russian revolutionaries? Robert McClenon (talk) 05:43, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

For the former: "Lo, in the streets of Paris, whilom was seen, a wondrous clamor riseth from the crowd. Men and women of low degree, they gather as bees do swarm upon a flower, seeking to wrest the governance from kings and lords. But alas, as Fortune's wheel doth turn, so shall they find that power, once gotten, is not so easily kept, for it slippeth through the hands like sand. Yet in their hearts, they held a noble cause, to strike at tyranny’s cruel face, though many paid with their lives, their blood staining the stones of that fair city."
