re Merge option

[edit]

For those who feel this should be merged with other legal challenges to Obama's constitutional eligibility to serve as POTUS, [http://worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=80928 this article] lists at least 7. I believe Donofrio is currently the only such case with a Wikipedia article. --Evb-wiki (talk) 22:10, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Here's another article that covers some of the cases and gets into the nuttiness of the movement: Change They Can Litigate: The fringe movement to keep Barack Obama from becoming president. Priyanath talk 04:33, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
yeah oped are always and excellent source for informative and non-biased articles. ; ) adf discussion will indicate there is more to this article than a silly hoax/conspiracy/nuttiness/fundiness/craziness/[insert dismissive insult by the politically insecure here], etc. the article provides many sources from mainstream media, is notable in its appealment all the way to the supreme court, and the sheer controversy its generated on wikipedia. while i personally believe there is a better angle to the story and dont necessarily support this petition as an individual, i in no way believe this is just a conspiracy theory as you so proudly claim. i think we need to wait awhile until this article settles down and we can truly come to a constructive discussion. I've claimed what? --Evb-wiki (talk) 04:55, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Talking to priyanath. Wikifan12345 (talk) 04:58, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's the problem with fringe political issues, they are mostly covered by oped writers, and sources like WorldNetDaily, which has been determined to not meet the standards for Reliable Sources at various times on Wikipedia. Priyanath talk 21:29, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Relocated Off-Topic Discussion

That kind of "constructive" attitude won't get us anywhere bugs. when in doubt, scoff/mock away. :D Wikifan12345 (talk) 03:25, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yup. Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 03:28, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Time to go for broke. Doesn't the article on Hawaii say something about the annexation having been unconstitutional?  :-)Ferrylodge (talk) 03:57, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I had thought of pointing out that claim to the various fringe groups but I restrained myself. There's almost an element of real-world beans to that. JoshuaZ (talk) 04:03, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh yeh! And don't forget Obama's alleged association with the Hawai'ian Independence Party, or HIP for short. (He has often been heard to remark, "I'm HIP.") Oh, another thing - you know that news clipping from the Hawai'ian newspaper that announced Obama's birth in August of 1961? In late October of this year he flew to Hawai'i to be at his dying grandmother's side, and during that visit he made a side trip in a Wayback machine, to 1961, to plant that phony news story in the newspaper. And I have valid sources to prove it. Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 04:04, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Did the time machine look like a DeLorean? That would be really hip. Dr.K. (logos) 04:10, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The fancy ones do. But you can get a good low-cost Wayback at Wal*Mart. It looks like a Yugo. Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 04:19, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actually it looks like our article on Hawaii doesn't mention the Constitutionality claim although I have heard it before. Must be too FRINGE. I think the claim made about the birth announcement is that once he came to the US they paid for a birth announcement in the US paper. Obama's family must have been very prescient. Gasp! I just realized the DeLorean to travel back in time must go 88 miles an hour! We all know that 88 is a Neo-Nazi symbol. Obama must be a secret facist in disguise! JoshuaZ (talk) 04:12, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Now that Sarah Palin is out of the picture, she can go back to working with the AIP. However, if Alaska splits off from the USA, although it would make the flag easier to do (7 X 7), the classic TV series would have to be renamed Hawai'i Forty-Nine-O. Just doesn't have the same ring to it somehow. Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 04:22, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Joshua, please stop trying to cover up what our Hawaii article says: "Its legality continues to be questioned because it was a United States Government resolution, not a treaty of cession or conquest as is required by international law."  :-) Joking aside, I do kind of hope that Obama releases the 1961 form, which likely would take some steam out of this whole crazed madness.Ferrylodge (talk) 04:30, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
i always love how when people become so zealous, they start mocking the naysayers when there is no more room for thought. god forbid we criticize president-elect, it MUST be just another dirty conspiracy propagated by the jealous evil nazi republicans! Wikifan12345 (talk) 04:55, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
One doesn't need to be a fan of Obama to think that the claims being made here are nutso. Michelle Malkin for example who is definitely not an Obama fan has mocked this pretty mercilessly. Incidentally was your move of this section because you didn't like the POV or because you have no sense of humor? JoshuaZ (talk) 05:10, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That clinches it. Malkin makes Ann Coulter almost look like a moderate. If she says it's hooey, then it's hooey. Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 05:34, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
no, I moved it because it wasnt appropriate for the adf discussion. Wikifan12345 (talk) 05:37, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Or even the afd discussion. Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 18:19, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You mean the Australian military is involved in this conspiracy too?! JoshuaZ (talk) 18:52, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I support Wikifan12345's transfer of this discussion to this talk page. Regardless of whether or not he is a "jealous evil nazi republican."  :)Ferrylodge (talk) 16:31, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
