The IP had exactly one edit nine years ago until it suddenly began a series of edits largely concentrated on sports rivalries (such as [3]) that have been trimmed back before, and on baseball and hockey topics that are pointless edits. • If I may butt in here, I've seen some editing recently that makes me believe that this IP is SNIyer12. This is the first time I can recall posting to an SSI in my Wikipedia career, so please forgive me if the formatting isn't perfect.
  • Yesterday and today, 96.242.20.185 made several edits to History of the New York Yankees. The early ones were formatting issues, and while not perfect it at least seemed like the IP was trying to be helpful. However, today this edit was made, introducing some irrelevant content related to baseball strikes. Lo and behold, SNIyer12 made this edit in October 2011. The addition is almost exactly the same as what was put into the article by 96, and one of the references was even the same. While I always seek to assume good faith, my limits are stretched when I see something like this. It would be highly unusual for two random editors to make such similar edits.
  • Before his indef, SNIyer12 made a bunch of edits related to the 1993–94 New York Rangers season and that season's Stanley Cup Finals. Someone at the hockey WikiProject once said that the user was "obsessed" with the topic, as well as that season's Knicks team. In 96's recent edits, I see this, which adds links to the 1994 Stanley Cup Finals and NBA Finals articles. This is consistent with the behavior patterns noted by the hockey project.
  • SNIyer12 had a lot of involvement at Yankees–Red Sox rivalry in the past: here is an example of their many contributions. 96 has had a burst of editing at the article here, here, and here. Of note is that SNIyer added a cite to a Dan Shaugnessy book in this batch of edits, and 96 added a cite to the same book here.
  • In general, I see a lot of editing by 96 related to sports rivalries. Major League Baseball rivalries, Mets–Phillies rivalry, and Curse of the Bambino were all edited by the IP. While this account seemingly has a more diverse set of interests than the previous socks I stumbled upon a while back, some key behavioral traits lead me to believe this is SNIyer12.

• One of SNIyer's IP socks added this edit to 2004 World Series with a quote by Pedro Martinez that Snoopy repeats here virtually verbatism. That is a coincidence that pushes my assumption of good faith to the breaking point.
• I recall saying the last time I posted an SPI for SNIyer that the user was highly interested in the 1993–94 New York Rangers and the 1994 Stanley Cup Finals article. Early in Snoopy's Wikipedia career, they made this series of edits to the Finals page, indicating a continuing interest in that topic.
• Both SNIyer and a sock made edits to History of the New York Yankees that involve the 1994 Major League Baseball strike. Snoopy made this edit, which also relates to the strike. In general, this user has been actively editing the article on the strike, as SNIyer did back going back over a decade according to the revision history.
• I noted last time that SNIyer seemed interested in articles on sports rivalries. I see edits to Yankees–Red Sox rivalry (much of this string is Snoopy's work), one of the articles that SNIyer's socks were editing before.

In general, it looks like Snoopy is using different sources than SNIyer and previous socks, but some of the formatting is similar.
