Suspected sockpuppets

[edit]

This stems from a COIN issue at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Rabiah. The users in question are all adding questionable material to the article that is remarkably similar. Two of these Rawishpaul and Rptheanonymous have already been blocked as socks and spawned an ANI Thread where users have said that Films001 and Cinema777 may be related. We should run a checkuser and make sense of this all, blocking the socks and adding relative masters and sock descriptions. 2Joules (talk) 05:04, 24 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Accused parties may also comment/discuss in this section below. See Defending yourself against claims.

I can't speak to the others but, aside from the style similarities in their names, Films001 and Cinema777 have an interesting range of articles at which their contributions intersect and are similar. They even both stopped editing on the day that Films001 was blocked. It's also worth noting that Joeltmpayne is the most recent editor. Melham123 is the oldest listed. --AussieLegend () 07:42, 24 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The interesting range of intersection between Films001 and Cinema777 is Robert Rabiah. Not a single edit between them that is unrelated to him. Group 2 names all share Rawish Pauls initials. Rptheanonymous and 1saint rp. duffbeerforme (talk) 11:32, 24 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Group 1:
are all a  Likely match.
Group 2:
are  Likely with respect to one another, and  Possible with respect to
all three are Red X Unrelated to Group 1 (from a technical standpoint).
Group 3:
is Red X Unrelated to any of the above.
Group 4:
are both too  Stale to check.
I have already blocked several of these accounts (Rawishpaul, Rptheanonymous and Joeltmpayne) prior to encountering this investigation. Off-wiki evidence suggests that Rawishpaul at least has been paid to edit the Robert Rabiah article. Yunshui  08:05, 24 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
