Suspected sockpuppets

As soon as AnAimlessRoad was blocked the IP and the new user jumped to the same articles that the blocked user edited advocating the same things:arguing that Eustace Mullins is not antisemite Shrike (talk) 06:50, 29 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets

User:AnAimlessRoad began abusive editing on the Falun Gong namespace around April 22. Among other things, edits involved making allegations of censorship and propaganda on talk page(s) (see [1][2][3]). He was indefinitely banned on April 25. The following day, IPs 91.63.217.224 and 91.63.202.190 began embarking on similar editing patters on the Falun Gong namespace,[4][5][6] and making virtually indistinguishable talk page comments as were made by User:AnAimlessRoad.[7] The IP was blocked on April 26. User:ProwlingToad created an account on 2 May, and starting engaging in virtually the same behavior on the Falun Gong talk page: namely, attempting to use it as a forum, a platform for anti-Falun Gong propaganda, and for complaints that editors are conspiring censor the page, etc.[8][9]. The Falun Gong namespace is naturally contentious on account of the group's status in China, but I can attest that I've never seen anything like this. To have three accounts in a one-week span making edits and initiating talk page discussions of this nature is highly unusual. I'm not sure if this merits a checkuser, or if the disruption is sufficiently unambiguous as to warrant a block without checkuser. We'll see. Other remedies may also be more appropriate. Suspected sockpuppets

User:AnAimlessRoad was site banned a couple weeks ago. He then created a (now confirmed) sockpuppet, User:ProwlingToad. Both were involved in disruptive editing at Falun Gong An anonymous IP caught my eye this morning when he was reverted for vandalism at Falun Gong. When I checked IP's editing history, I found that it followed the very similar patterns as User:AnAimlessRoad. Both have fairly limited editing histories, but there is overlap on a number of topics, including Multiple rocket launcher, Falun Gong, The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, as well as a variety of topics related to denialism (Holocaust and Nanjing Massacre, respectively), and Chinese-Korean relations. don't think it's possible this is a coincidence. Update: it is not a coincidence. The IP has admitted that he is the same person as AnAimlessRoad. See these talk page comments at The Protocols of the Elders of Zion: On April 24, AnAimlessRoad complains of "Jewish-related-article gatekeepers" censoring the article.[10] Later that day, IP address take responsibility for those comments, saying "I never mentioned anything about Jewish people. I said "Jewish-related-article gatekeepers".[11] AnAimlessRoad is attempting to circumvent his site ban by editing from an IP address.

It's been two days since the IP edited, so I'll mark this for close. If they edit again, or create another account, please feel free to refile. TNXMan 14:03, 9 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
