All philatelic material is under Government of India Copyright vide Indian Copyright Act 1957 and only comes into public domain after 50 years of date of issue. AshLin (talk) 05:39, 23 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is his picture i have been seeing since childhood in newspapers, political rallies, Govt buildings and statues. i donoo what to do now so it it remains on wikipedia? please tell me the procedure what if i manually take a picture from my digital camera? , how then i upload it , cause it,s very complicated to upload any picture on wiki.

This is the image of a postage stamp. You cant upload the postage stamp image of Rao Tula Ram on Wikipedia till 50 years after issue. You can try to find his image in a publication more than 60 years ago. That will be out of copyright if the photographer is unknown. AshLin (talk) 13:37, 23 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think it is more complicated than that. There is no explicit copyright release provision in the Indian Copyright Act for legal token/tender. In most other countries, "low resolution" images of stamps, currency, coins are usable but such as statement does not exist in the Indian Copyright Act. It would be 60 years after the publication in the case of Government work. You could argue under fair use in some cases but surely you can look for an image of the man elsewhere rather than on postage stamps. Shyamal (talk) 04:59, 28 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
