Are you saying you own a copy of the manual, or that you are the copyright holder of the manual? If the first, it is not yours to licese "PD-self" as your own work if you are not the original artist unless you have aquired such rights from either the artist or from whoever hired/paid the artist if the artist relinquished his copyright to them as part of the work for hire of creating the image. If you are indeed the copyright holder of the original work from c. 1956, that's fine, but some information should be added on the image description page to explain the situation. Well I'll be damned. A stuffed animal is a work of art. You learn something new every day. However, I do think that the image qualifies under fair use for the Tickle Me Elmo article seeing as that article is specifically about the stuffed animal.
