Linus M. (talk · contribs) I know I haven't been very active recently, and I would appreciate some feedback about how I can make myself useful. I still hope to become an administrator sometime within the next 6 months, and would also appreciate feedback as to whether that is a reasonable goal, considering the current RfA process. You asked how you can make yourself useful. My heartfelt answer to this question, and one which I try to live by myself, is "Do something that nobody else will do," i.e. take a leadership role. This includes monitoring backlogs and noticeboards. It also encompasses writing and improving articles that are not up to par. You seem better suited for the latter pursuit.
You identified WikiProject Free Software as an area of interest. It is currently active, which is good news. You need to organize editors to comb through Category:Free software, especially Category:Free software stubs, to add sources and formatting to articles, and if these cannot be found, to consider listing them for deletion. It's a long process, but it should keep you busy for as long as you plan to spend in this square nanometer of the online universe. If you need other ideas, try the Community Portal (link on the left sidebar).
Based on your editing pattern, I don't think adminship is a realistic option for you in the foreseeable future. You can reevaluate that question (i.e. seek another editor review) after you've made 2,000-3,000 more edits.
I wish you good luck. YechielMan 20:12, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
