Nominator's rationale: WP:C2D List of princes of Transylvania and Prince of Transylvania; WP:C2C parent Category:Principality of Transylvania (1570–1711). I don't think the current name is incorrect; I just think it could be more precise. Nederlandse Leeuw (talk) 22:55, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
PS: We still have to think of a good alternate name for its parent Category:Rulers of Transylvania. I just overhauled one of the three main articles from List of rulers of Transylvania to Lists of political office-holders in Transylvania to better capture the contents as a list of lists including non-"ruler" governors. But I'm not sure how to name the category. Nederlandse Leeuw (talk) 23:02, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: State or union territory‎ is used for other football clubs in India. The single current entry is from Arunachal Pradesh, and the proposed category would follow the aforementioned scheme. Kaffet i halsen (talk) 21:29, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Propose merging Category:Car-free zones in the Middle East to sibling Category:Car-free zones in Asia
  • Propose deleting Category:Transport infrastructure in the Middle East
  • Propose deleting Category:Infrastructure in the Middle East
Nominator's rationale: Category:Car-free zones in the Middle East is a WP:SMALLCAT 1 P, 0 C. Parent Category:Transport infrastructure in the Middle East and grandparent Category:Infrastructure in the Middle East are otherwise completely empty and useless. Actually no, better to only merge to sibling Category:Car-free zones in Asia, which is a child of Category:Pedestrian infrastructure in Asia. Nederlandse Leeuw (talk) 17:20, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: WP:OVERLAPCAT / WP:NARROWCAT. I just created Category:Governors in Europe (after previously creating Category:Lists of governors in Europe), not knowing Category:Viceroys in Europe already existed. I would have deferred to the existing category, were it not for the fact that all viceroys are governors, but not all governors are viceroys, namely, in republics such as List of Roman governors of Sicilia#Republican governors of Sicily. Alternately, we could keep 'em separated, either as siblings or with Viceroys as the Offspring of Governors. While we're at it, I'm not sure Viceroys should be categorised as 'heads of state'; they represented certain monarchs who were the actual heads of state. Nominator's rationale: When subcategories take all players whether they're current or past, it makes less sense to differentiate the parent category in whether the organisations are current or past. The two remaining categories in Category:Ice hockey players by defunct team, Category:ECD Iserlohn players and Category:ECD Sauderland players‎, are already in Category:Ice hockey players in Germany by team. The result of the discussion was: alt rename.
Nominator's rationale: Per subcategories, all in the format of Fooian nobility, as well as sister entries from Category:Nobility by continent (African nobility, Asian nobility‎, etc.) Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 09:30, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Cheers, Nederlandse Leeuw (talk) 09:53, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And then rename all Fooian nobility to nobility in Fooland? Mhm. Hardly ideal. Category:Ukrainian nobility makes sense, Category:Nobility in Ukraine will make much less, since effectively Ukraine was not a country until the 20th century. Etc. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 12:55, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Given that Ukraine wasn't a country until the 20th century, I hardly think that the category "Ukrainian nobility" does make sense. Maybe that category should be split. (t · c) buidhe 14:02, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And then rename all Fooian nobility to nobility in Fooland? Nobody is saying we should do that next. This CfR is about continents, not countries/states/territories within those continents. Nederlandse Leeuw (talk) 23:49, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
But Wikipedia:Consistency in article titles is a thing. It would be easier to rename the continents to follow the countries suit rather than the other way around. Btw, I support splitting Americas, that's a simple thing I am sure we can get consensus on, regardless of the main issue. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 03:21, 15 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Piotrus Yes, consistency is what I am pursuing. The "Category:European monarchs" CfR didn't just rename Category:European monarchs to Category:Monarchs in Europe:
I was planning to CfR the other "Nobility by continent" categories from Fooian-continental nobility to Nobility in continent Foo next after Category:European nobility was renamed to Category:Nobility in Europe two days ago (13 June), but you immediately proposed to reverse this renaming yesterday (14 June), 27.5 hours later. I didn't see the result of the CfR within those 27.5 hours, so I didn't yet submit a follow-up CfR, but you saw that the continental categories were named inconsistently and tried to bring "in Europe" back in line with "European" without realising it was recently renamed deliberately, and the other ones were slated for renaming soon as well. So I think there has been a bit of a misunderstanding, I hope I have cleared it up now. Nederlandse Leeuw (talk) 06:12, 15 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
