Appears to be a largely non-notable and GNG-failing topic. Already described in the main article at The War of the Worlds#Weapons and armour, so a separate article is unnecessary. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 08:22, 29 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

- Redirect/Merge to Martian (The War of the Worlds) - Much like the also-nominated Heat-Ray, while the black smoke is mentioned in summaries and discussions of the various incarnation of War of the Worlds, there is nothing showing that it is independently notable enough to have a separate article, rather than being covered on the overall topic of the Martians. - Redirect to Martian (The War of the Worlds), which already covers this weapon in more than enough detail. There is no need for a WP:SPLIT here. Devonian Wombat (talk) 11:21, 30 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

- Redirect to Martian (The War of the Worlds), slight chance it is a searchable term, not notable enough for stand-alone article. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 02:47, 1 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
