Categorization of villages, districtwise
When we create categories of villages districtwise, is there any sort of naming convention which we shld follow? I plan to start categories for the state of Tamil Nadu. I noticed that categories exist for a few districts and of that, a few have names with "District" (capitalization). Shld I use "District"? Or "district" as in Kerala categories? Pl guide. Tina, I have added the new workgroups, Education, Railways and Transport to the WP India template. Please proceed with next steps. Regards, Ganeshk (talk)02:37, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
Ganeshji, While I try to load your category creation plugin on AWB, it says "Plugin error: WPAssessmentsCatCreator.dll is out of date and needs to be updated". I am using WPAssessmentsCatCreator.dll 1.0.0.3 and AWB 4.9.0.1 -- TinuCherian - 05:19, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
The current AWB version is 4.6. Can you please tell me why you are using 4.9? The plugin works fine on 4.6. Regards, Ganeshk (talk)02:18, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
Ok. I was using the latest SVN..mainly bcoz I found some performance and processing issue on the release version... I will revert to the release version again and try -- TinuCherian - 02:38, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
Just checking if you got the plugin working on 4.6? I need to test the plugin in 4.9 (better work on the bug now than later). How do I get the latest SVN? I remember Reedy used to have a site. Regards, Ganeshk (talk)18:29, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
It worked with 4.6 AWB . See Category:WikiProject Transport in India articles. May be u want to look into the issue of 4.9 some time, as they will forcibly upgrade to 4.9 any time 11:50, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
Hate to do this to you, but the thing needs to be delivered again. Yes, the newsletter, this timeTemplate:WikiProject Christianity/Outreach/August 2009. The sooner the better preferably, so we can see whether anyone is really interested in checking any of the special collections that might be in their areas. John Carter (talk) 16:38, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
Understood, and thank you very much. I know it's not the most fun task in the world, or the quickest, and I really appreciate your willingness. John Carter (talk) 18:27, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

The Christianity project and its related projects currently have 75 FAs, 8 FLs, and 147 GAs, with a net loss of one FA and one GA. Our thanks to those who helped keep some other articles listed, and to those who have worked so diligently in improving all of our articles.
Member news
Three new members joined this past month, including new members User:116Calvinist, User:Lrnngrbc, and User:Frazz, bringing us up to 295 listed members. Thanks to you all, and a special welcome to our new members!
Other news
Two new pages for the benefit of members of the project have been created. Wikipedia:WikiProject Christianity/Mutual aid society is designed to be a place where editors seeking specific assistance from other members can with luck find others who have the abilities or materials they need, and Wikipedia:WikiProject Christianity/Special collections is, at this point, the beginnings of a list of publicly accessible special collections libraries which our members might find useful. Anyone who lives near one of the collections listed is encouraged to visit them and see if they can find anything they would like to read or use to improve some of our articles. There are always some discussions regarding project related activities at Wikipedia:WikiProject Christianity/General Forum. I think the timing of the call for elections might have been bad (summer vacation, what was I thinking?), and have thus changed the period for individuals to run to be one of the project's coordinators. Individuals who have a particular interest or knowledge of specific fields within Christianity are encouraged to run, to serve as a kind of "unit coordinator" for that topic.
Related projects news
The WikiProject Films has recently created a new task force for Christian films. All interested parties are welcome to join and contribute.
Welcome to the Eleventh issue of the WikiProject Christianity newsletter! Use this newsletter as a mechanism to inform yourselves about progress at the project and please be inspired to take more active roles in what we do.
One area in particular need of attention right now is the content related to the Oriental Orthodox churches. Several of the topics within this field are of great importance, including the churches themselves, their histories, thinking, and some of the individuals associated with it. Unfortunately, the number of people who belong to the churches, and, correspondingly, the number of editors working on that content, is smaller than it could be. Anyone interested in helping to develop this content is more than welcome to look at the Wikipedia:WikiProject Oriental Orthodoxy page and seeing where they can help out.

New Articles
Hi! Good day, Tinu Cherian
As I mentioned earlier, I have prepared draft articles in my user sandbox pages on Jamali Kamali Mosque and Tomb at User:Nvvchar/sandbox/Kedarnath Musk Deer National Park and on Hijron Ka Khanqah here User:Nvvchar/sandbox/Miscel.. The second article may need some more accptable references but the first one is probably suitable for DYK now. Please tweek them as required and add more text if possible for posting jointly on DYK, if you find it OK. I will be in Bangalore from 19th August to 5th Septemeber, if there is a meeting. Thanks.--Nvvchar (talk) 01:36, 9 August 2009 (UTC)
Thanks Sir... But I will be very busy and off wiki atleast till 18th Aug ... May be we can collabrate on another article next time.. Sorry for this.. -- TinuCherian - 06:42, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
Can you assess the article? I'm trying to get this to GA/FA, and I'm sure one of India's best ever authors should be of top class importance, and hopefully if that's done, more people will work on the article. cheers. -SpacemanSpiffCalvin‡Hobbes17:20, 9 August 2009 (UTC)

The Military history Academy content drive is underway with nearly twenty new essays so far. More contributions are welcome. Just click on the one of the redlinks here and start writing!
Are you missing out on an A-Class medal? These are for editors who have significantly contributed to three or more military history A-Class articles promoted since 1 August 2008. Alternatively, perhaps you can help with reviewing? For more information, see here.

From the Judges
Apologies for not getting a newsletter out before this, but all of the judges happened to be away at the same time. Very impressive start of the round. Only sixteen days in, and our top four are already completely above 200 points. By the way, this is light red, not pink! :P

Hey there buddy, I am open for an editor review.. I would like it if one of you guys either reviewed it, or suggest it to someone who understands the kinds of edits that I make. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 16:52, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
Hi. I haven't forgotten about this. However some recent complaints have made me think differently about creating stubs on things so I am unwilling to start articles on the film which I had intended given that not many sources are available to my knowledge...Dr. BlofeldWhite cat18:17, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
help with an article
Hi
could you please help me with an article titled 'Nazargunj'? The article has been improved post suggestions made in March 2008 but it still says 'multiple issues' etc?
We at Hindi wiki are short of contributors with technical know how for creating bots. Do you know how to create a bot for some regular work for maintaining the quality of the wiki. I know there are several on English wiki and I can do a bot request. But generally what happens is people from other countries reply to the bot request and are reluctant to create a bot for a language which they can not even read. So if you have any experience in creating/maintaing any bot please help us. Thanks
Could you help with the Signpost? The delivery was only partially completed; everyone from User:Lights to the end on the Spamlist never got the most recent delivery. Here is the delivery message. Cheers --ragesoss (talk) 15:25, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
