License tagging for Image:Entire Badasht.JPEG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Entire Badasht.JPEG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 00:07, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Show preview button

[edit]

You might consider using the "Show preview" button when you make a change. You can use this to see what the change would be like before you make the changes permanent. I noticed you took several stabs at adding an image before you were happy with the result.

The only time the "Show preview" button doesn't work very well is when you are working with footnotes. What I generally do in that case is to first add the text of the footnote without the <ref> tag. That way you can see how the footnote would look like, although it will appear in-line rather than at the bottom of the page. Once you are happy with the text of the note, insert the <ref> tag, use "Show preview" one more time to make sure that the tags encompass the entire footnote, and then save the page. -- wrp103 (Bill Pringle) (Talk) 04:53, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
