Oh, and since you're about, I was wondering, because I think you're probably the best person to ask, do you know of any good sources (online or otherwise) about the use of Phenyldichloroarsine in battle. I have found sources which briefly mention that it was used in World War I, by Germany, but cannot find anything more specific than that. Thoughts?--IvoShandor (talk) 06:31, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not on wikipedia as much as I'd like - currently working on some writing projects. I am glad you are going after the CB weapons subjects with tenacity. I think L. H. Haber "The Poisonous Cloud" describes the history of PD and other dichloroarsines in good detail. Though current day listed as a vesicant, the Germans intended for it as an sternatory irritant. If you have any other questions - feel free to e-mial me (rkirby@eximdyne.com).--Reid Kirby (talk) 18:58, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, I will look for that book right away. As far as improving the content here, I was quite taken aback by how little there was on Wikipedia about the topic, considering the websites ubiquitous nature these days, I saw the gap as quite alarming, those who don't know history . . . destined to repeat . . . yada yada, etc. I'm a former Dragon Soldier myself, so it's a topic I have always had a keen interest in. I created two templates that pretty much compile the improvements I have made, along with articles that I haven't really touched but do need some work. (See Template:U.S. chemical weapons and Template:U.S. biological weapons). Eventually I would like to see an overview at U.S. chemical weapons program, unfortunately, though, U.S. biological weapons program is in desperate need of help. On the upside, I have a good start to Entomological warfare. Good luck with your writing projects, do you still publish in the Chemical Review, or elsewhere? Let me know if you put anything new out there, I am always interested in your expert work. Thanks, and sorry for the long-winded reply. --IvoShandor (talk) 06:21, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File:Weteye.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Bomb Weteye.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:Bomb Weteye.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This message was sent as a courtesy reminder to all active members of the Military History WikiProject.
G'day all, please be advised that throughout March 2017 the Military history Wikiproject is running its March Madness drive. This is a backlog drive that is focused on several key areas:
tagging and assessing articles that fall within the project's scope
updating the project's currently listed A-class articles to ensure their ongoing compliance with the listed criteria
creating articles that are listed as "requested" on the project's various task force pages or other lists of missing articles.
As with past Milhist drives, there are points awarded for working on articles in the targeted areas, with barnstars being awarded at the end for different levels of achievement.
The drive is open to all Wikipedians, not just members of the Military history project, although only work on articles that fall (broadly) within the military history scope will be considered eligible. More information can be found here for those that are interested, and members can sign up as participants at that page also.
The drive starts at 00:01 UTC on 1 March and runs until 23:59 UTC on 31 March 2017, so please sign up now.

2017 Military Historian of the Year and Newcomer of the Year nominations and voting[edit]
As we approach the end of the year, the Military History project is looking to recognise editors who have made a real difference. Each year we do this by bestowing two awards: the Military Historian of the Year and the Military History Newcomer of the Year. The co-ordinators invite all project members to get involved by nominating any editor they feel merits recognition for their contributions to the project. Nominations for both awards are open between 00:01 on 2 December 2017 and 23:59 on 15 December 2017. After this, a 14-day voting period will follow commencing at 00:01 on 16 December 2017. Nominations and voting will take place on the main project talkpage: here and here. Thank you for your time. For the co-ordinators, MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 08:35, 8 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
"Military history" is one of the most important subjects when speak of sum of all human knowledge. To support contributors interested in the area over various language Wikipedias, we intend to form a user group. It also provides a platform to share the best practices between military historians, and various military related projects on Wikipedias. An initial discussion was has been done between the coordinators and members of WikiProject Military History on English Wikipedia. Now this discussion has been taken to Meta-Wiki. Contributors intrested in the area of military history are requested to share their feedback and give suggestions at Talk:Discussion to incubate a user group for Wikipedia Military Historians.
