Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by TheBritinator was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
I don't have reason to believe the provided sources are reliable nor establish notability given there mostly from the same site.

I'm surprised that this didn't go through as he is the 6th best player in the world, one of the few in the world to win a Major tournament (which is Valve's official yearly world championship). This is a significant moment in the history of Latvia but ok, will update the sources and content so it meets the necessary guidelines. Latviawikiman (talk) 07:31, 22 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The comment the reviewer left was:
Still does not have appropriate referencing to establish notability, most of them are still not appropriate under WP:VGRS. The others seem mostly to be self published, these are not acceptable.

@Geardona I'm really confused here. I am trying to create articles about notable people from Latvia, yet this isn't passing even though this person qualifies for all of what you mentioned.
There is significant coverage, he is an official e-sports player for the #1 team in the #1 game in the world. Won the gold medal at the largest event in the world. Named #6 best player in the world, yet there are pages for professional gamers that are way lower. He is talked about in national AND international television. All of his teammates from FaZe Clan have their Wikipedia page.
The links referenced are from the most trusted sources in the industry. HLTV - the official news portal for all counter-strake related news and events. Sportacentrs - main sports news portal in Latvia. Blast/PGL/etc are official event organizers that have published the results. Delfi/Jauns/TV3 - they are the largest and primary news outlets in the region.
He is the first e-sports player that was nominated for the highest state award in achievements in sports.
Honestly, what is this page missing? Can you please guide me where it doesn't qualify for what you mention? How are these players "better" than him (S1mple, Twistzz, FalleN, Ropz)? Latviawikiman (talk) 18:38, 27 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This news portal is listed in WP:VGRS for Esports reliable sources (even though the list is super narrow and not up to today's growing news outlets in esports, even the official game-specific portals by the game publishers are not there). Latviawikiman (talk) 18:42, 27 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So, its mostly about the HLTV sources, this discussion and its associated page have it listed as "unreliable" and not used for notability. As for the dotesports article, that looks good, if you can find 3 more similar to it that will establish notability. (Personally I think that he seems notable, but needs a few more sources to fully establish it). I would also read Wikipedia:BLP, as they have a higher sourcing requirement. Updated the article and now it has 7 references from sites that are listed in WP:VGRS.
Sadly, the sites are not really up to today's standards for Counter-Strike news so I also left the links to HLTV, top Latvian media sites and a few other ones that people actually use for Counter-Strike news. Latviawikiman (talk) 05:11, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
