Revision as of 20:02, 16 February 2024 on sources, 2010 in esports[edit]

The TL.net reporting of those games with replays included are the only comprehensive surviving sources of many of those tournament and the brackets that were in them. How can you say TL.net is not a trustworthy source when its the only remaining one? There aren't even archived versions of the original sites that hosted the tournament, i checked. If you can find a source other than TL reporting on the result of obscure broodwar tournaments go ahead and link them right on the page. Gröngroda (talk) 21:28, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Gröngroda: If tl.net is the only source you can find, then the topic may not be notable enough for inclusion on Wikipedia. Consider looking for reliable sources in Korean. This may help: Wikipedia:WikiProject Korea/Reliable sources. – Pbrks (t·c) 21:36, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Like i said the tournaments i had to link TL.net for were obscure StarCraft Broodwar tournaments and the very first Starcraft II Tournaments. While you admittedly probably could find alternative sources for the StarCraft II tournaments the only way you could find alternative sources for the BroodWar tournaments would be if you spoke korean and browsed websites for archived copies of their reporting because every link to the same tournaments on the korean pages for the specific tournaments are broken with no archived copy. The Korean version of wikipedia has pages for the specific tournaments but no working sources for the results except guess what :~) TL.net and korean broodwar messageboards.
It's the site where every single person passionate about broodwar gathered for a reason. Gröngroda (talk) 21:39, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
For example just so you can see what i mean, if you go to https://ko.wikipedia.org/wiki/EVER_%EC%8A%A4%ED%83%80%EB%A6%AC%EA%B7%B8_2009 and check under sources to only source that isnt to a vod is TL.net Gröngroda (talk) 21:42, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Gröngroda: Forums are never suitable to be used as a source. See WP:UGC. You would need to find a better source, otherwise the event may need to be removed. – Pbrks (t·c) 22:12, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Signature of Prince Andreas[edit]

Hey, there. I noticed that you were the person who uploaded the photo of the signature of Elizabeth II that features in her infobox. I was wondering if you would be able to do the same with Andreas, Prince of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. His signature is present on this page, but I'm not too sure on the rules regarding uploading signatures, hence why I have come to you. Thanks! - Therealscorp1an (talk) 09:05, 17 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Therealscorp1an: This is no problem. For details on how Commons handles signatures, see c:Commons:When to use the PD-signature tag. The signature file is here: File:Prince Andreas of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha signature.svg. – Pbrks (t·c) 16:30, 17 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, thank you so much for all your help! I really appreciate it. - Therealscorp1an (talk) 22:25, 17 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, sorry to disturb you again. I have tried to upload the signatures of Constantine II of Greece and Queen Anne-Marie of Greece, found here, but when trying to upload it to Commons, I am struggling with picking all the licensing options, etc.. I was wondering if you'd be able to assist me again, sorry? - Therealscorp1an (talk) 00:00, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Therealscorp1an: The link you sent doesn't load the image that you had selected, and it looks like Constantine II of Greece already has a signature. Could you send which signatures you want in the articles? – Pbrks (t·c) 15:18, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, sorry. Yes, someone added one to Constantine's after I left that message. Here is Anne-Marie's. Here is also Pavlos and Marie-Chantal's signature. I hope those links work. - Therealscorp1an (talk) 21:47, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
