Proposed deletion of List of REITs in Canada[edit]

The article List of REITs in Canada has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Nothing but a list of commercial external links.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the ((proposed deletion/dated)) notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing ((proposed deletion/dated)) will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. MrOllie (talk) 15:32, 4 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Status and Advice

As reviewing administrator, I did not delete the article right away but it is not acceptable in its present form. For a list like this, it is our consistent practice to only include those firms that are notable in the sense of having articles in Wikipedia or being clearly qualified for one. As for our standard son that, see WP:N; the article needs to show notability with references providing substantial coverage from 3rd party independent published reliable sources, print or online, but not blogs or press releases, or material derived from press releases. For further information see our FAQ about business, organizations, and articles like this and also WP:FIRST.

If any of these do have such articles, please remove the others until you have articles about them. Otherwise the entire article is almost certain to be removed by a regular deletion process. I do not want to discourage you, but to urge you to write a proper article if it is possible; if it is not yet possible, please help us by improving our other articles on related topics. ` DGG ( talk ) 23:47, 6 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
