FrB.TG, I'm sincerely sad to hear you're leaving. Thanks again for all your support with that article I was working on for so long. And many congratulations for Emma Stone and now Taylor Swift. Great work on those (and I see you've had a very long list of other successes over the last two years)! Wikipedia will be a little bit lonelier without you to swap encouragement with. Good luck in all your future endeavors in real life, and take care. Moisejp (talk) 04:48, 1 November 2016 (UTC) |
Thank you, Moisejp. I've just decided not to create content for an indefinite period. I never had the joy of having an FA on first attempt, something I achieved with Taylor Swift's article, a stress-free nomination - I'm glad. – FrB.TG (talk) 17:25, 2 November 2016 (UTC)

You removed this bit here about the record for The Monster Ball Tour, with the edit summary as asking what The Fame Ball Tour was. Well the record specified by Billboard is for a "debut headlining artist". Gaga did not headline always with the Fame Ball since she was the opening act in many areas. With Monster Ball she was the headlining act always. I suggest you restore this bit. I did not want to revert you thinking to cause bad faith. —IB [ Poke ] 12:53, 17 December 2016 (UTC)

You are possibly already aware of this error. You incorrectly "corrected" my correction of incorrect "whom" to correct "who" in the article "Bradley Cooper." The sentence in question was, "He cites actor Daniel Day-Lewis as an influence, whom he thinks is "the World's Greatest Actor." The dependant clause is "who is the world's greatest actor," with "who" as the subject. The "he thinks" is merely a parenthetical phrase and has no influence on the who/whom question. Dropping by belatedly, I just wanted to say that your reaction to my oppose on this article is one of the best I've ever come across. It's very rare for a nominator to say: "Actually, you're right, I'll withdraw this and work on it some more". If everyone was so collegiate, FAC would run a lot more smoothly! Thanks for that, and let me know if I can be of any assistance when you get to looking at this. I'm not sure I can help on sourcing as I had a look myself when I reviewed, but you never know. Hi, I see you removed Ryan Gosling's image and I just wanted to say that he received nominations from several film critics organizations, as well as rave reviews for his performance in the film, like his co-star Emma Stone and director Damien Chazelle. If he had not received that many nominations then it would be right to not put his image but the fact is that he did received that amount of nominations and his image should be in the article. Now, if you think three images are overkill, we can reduce the size of the images but please, don not remove Ryan Gosling's image. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.209.30.179 (talk) 00:39, 4 August 2017 (UTC)

It is my pleasure to help you with reliable sources and to make Lady Gaga's Wikipedia page better. I am new here and I don't know if this is a place to ask you, but can you please consider adding at least two more artists that Gaga has influenced. I wrote them in Talk:Lady Gaga and was denied. Katy Perry and Ariana Grande are both huge artists and both are so much influenced by Gaga. I am not trying to make a complete list of artists that were influenced by Gaga because I can find you more than 100. These are big artists that she inspired and deserve to be in her Legacy part of page. Maybe if there are too many listed you can remove Ashley Tisdale for example and add those two. You have the reliable sources on the Talk:Lady Gaga. Thanks in advance!
P.S. there is an article "How Lady Gaga Raised the Standards for Ambition in Pop" by Billboard which should be added to her legacy page also. JoDash (talk) 18:39, 13 August 2017 (UTC) |
There is this new article written by Hugh McIntyre from Forbes in which he claims that "Lady Gaga was one of the first artists currently helping usher in this new era with her latest album Joanne, which saw her put down the disco stick and pick up an acoustic guitar" and "Since then, a number of superstars have decided to stick with full bands and guitars [...] Miley Cyrus’ new single “Malibu” [...] while former One Direction member Harry Styles went one step further and dove headfirst into light glam rock with his first solo album and its lead single “Sign Of The Times.”" He is basically saying that like when 10 years ago Gaga brought back dance music to Top 40 with her debut album, now she's helping usher new acoustic era with her new album Joanne. I think that's interesting and would be a great fit for her legacy part. https://www.forbes.com/sites/hughmcintyre/2017/08/16/lady-gaga-miley-kesha-top-40-pop-has-gone-acoustic-but-is-it-going-well/#81d63144e7fa
Plus similar article about this was written by Billboard. With 'Million Reasons,' Is Lady Gaga Bringing Back 'The Vocalist Era'? http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/7744316/with-million-reasons-is-lady-gaga-bringing-back-the-vocalist-era
In the legacy part after the sentence: In 2015, Time also noted that Gaga had "practically invented the current era of pop music as spectacle.", I would add: In August 2017, Hugh McIntyre from Forbes, credited Gaga for "helping usher in this new era with her latest album Joanne, which saw her put down the disco stick and pick up an acoustic guitar".
Please consider adding this. I think it's important for her legacy part, because she has always been a trendsetter. Thanks! By the way, why was Katy Perry removed from the list of artists? JoDash (talk) 01:49, 17 August 2017 (UTC)

The article has come up beautifully. I don't know how you do it you sneaky little elf, but you don't create anything less than masterpieces do you? :P I have one suggestion. Do you think we might add one image from the Born This Way era? Because that was kind of the transition for Gaga. We can show the images in this way: An image from the said era where Gaga is shown at her craziest, and maybe replace the Artpop era with one from the Cheek to Cheek era, to show how she cleaned up her image and public persona. The captions reflecting them too. —IB [ Poke ] 04:56, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
Hi, I have just expanded the 'Early life' section in this article. Its based on Martine's biography and I think that because of that it might not be written how we tend to write on Wikipedia. There's a lot of informations about her parents and it's hard to avoid mentioning their names a lot which makes it sound a bit informal I think.
