Hi Famous Hobo, sorry for not getting back to you earlier regarding this message. Unfortunately, due to work and other factors I will probably not be as active on wikipedia as before. However, after quickly glossing over the German article, I noticed it contains a lot of material that at least in the English wiki would be fall under WP:GAMECRUFT. Also, the user who was clearly in charge of bringing the article to good status, claims to have an advanced knowledge of English. Perhaps you can ask him for advice directly? Hope this is of any help. Jotamide (talk) 05:37, 6 September 2015 (UTC)
PS: I re-added the tracklist under the music section. Not sure why you removed it when other video game articles (1, 2) that have achieved good status do feature them.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of songs recorded by Rise Against, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Savior and Audience of One. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:From Nowhere (Dan Croll song), a page you created, has not been edited in 6 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

So, barring any new interviews popping up, I think the development section of Zero Escape is pretty solid now, at the very least in terms of information. What it's lacking is information about puzzle design (but I recall reading some article about that, so it should be doable) and music. The two soundtrack releases have one review each at RPGFan, but I don't actually know enough about music to use them to write anything more than what's already there. Seeing as you are a member of two music-related WikiProjects as well, would you be able to take a look at the reviews (or any other RS if you happen to know of/come across any) and see if there's any useful information that can be implemented into the article? If I were to try it, I wouldn't be able to paraphrase etc as I don't know much about music terminology.--IDVtalk 10:54, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

P.S. I'm aware it has some dead link problems but I'll get to those soon.
I apologize, but I have very little expertise making list articles. I do have the following observations, however, isn't having the same artist linked over and over again overlinking? Same with the song titles that re-entered. I can understand once the template ends and a new one starts then it can be linked again but I think this should be fixed. dannymusiceditor ~talk to me!~ 00:06, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. On 8 August 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article No Russian, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the Domodedovo International Airport bombing in 2011 has been linked to the video game level No Russian? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/No Russian. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, ), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Another point, figured I'd mention it here rather than at the talk page - for the reception section of the Spec Ops article, the image description currently used is potentially a spoiler ("white phosphorus scene... forces walker to kill... civilians"). This is a similar case to the image used in the plot section, no? Should I just rewrite it to remove that part? Liar's Lair (talk) 03:08, 27 September 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:VLR cast.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 19:10, 1 September 2016 (UTC)
Good news - the article of the Sexiest Man Alive is a GA now, as you might have noticed. You can also nominate his filmography for FL after making some little edits here and there. Also, could you drop by at the PR for Taylor Swift? -FrB.TG (talk) 13:44, 2 September 2016 (UTC)
Since there is usually a reason for it I wanted to inquire as to why you noted 700 words in this trimming of the plot section; while I am aware that the movie project has guidelines to this effect I had seen nothing in the article's subsections or an edit notice to this effect associated with the article. It seems to me to be a little brutal to trim out relevant information, but as I said there is usually a good reason for it so I wanted to hear back from you first before taking any action that could seem questionable here. Great work on getting Virtue's Last Reward up to FA! ThomasO1989 (talk) 04:31, 30 September 2016 (UTC) |
Hey Famous Hobo,
Recently saw the Fat Wreck Chords documentary - totally recommend it - and was revisiting my old obsession with the first few Rise Against records (obsession is maybe an understatement). I was just skimming through the talk page on a few Rise Against articles and saw your name come up a few times so I decided I'd send a falafel your way as a nod to a fellow fan of their old stuff (and one so dedicated as to edit their wiki articles!). Rise Against was a big part of my middle school experience well into the end of high school and remains my favorite band of all time, despite vastly expanding my music interests. I don't know what you're supposed to make of the falafel, but yeah. ~glide on mate~ -Adam Stigg426 (talk) 02:14, 15 October 2016 (UTC) |
@Stigg426: Thanks! I'll try and check out that documentary when I can. I'm also a huge fan of the band, to the point where I put serious time into their articles. For example, I've gotten The Unraveling to Good Article nomination status, and I'm just waiting for a reviewer. I've also got Rise Against discography at Featured List candidate status, and still waiting for reviewers. I really just enjoy learning about this band's history. Famous Hobo (talk) 03:17, 15 October 2016 (UTC)
Hey there! Just wanted to give you props for the work you've done on No Russian. When I started the page for Robbing the Cradle a couple of years ago, it occurred to me that No Russian was begging for an article as well. Now I see it's finally been created (and improved to Good status!), which is quite a pleasant surprise. You've done a fantastic job with it—I have no doubt that it'll pass the planned FAC. Good luck with your nominaton. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 00:25, 23 October 2016 (UTC)
Hi FH. If you have the time please could you take one final look at the Super Mario Galaxy FAC? It's very close to being promoted, and the coordinator asked to confirm if you're happy with everything being addressed. I'm anxious to get this closed as I have another article which is pretty much FA-ready. Thanks! JAGUAR 15:53, 29 October 2016 (UTC)
Famous Hobo, I know it is a bit quick to ask for that, but could you please strike out your comments at the Cooper FAC if you feel they are addressed. It's been open for a month and a half now and I think it's nearing closure. Thanks in advance. – FrB.TG (talk) 07:57, 20 November 2016 (UTC)

Hello, Famous Hobo. It has been over six months since you last edited your Articles for Creation draft article submission, "From Nowhere".
In accordance with our policy that Articles for Creation is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply and remove the ((db-afc))

code.
If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. 1989 (talk) 03:16, 2 January 2017 (UTC)

Hey there, I noticed that you tend to change citation titles for Metacritic pages to "X Critic Reviews for Y", while this is more-or-less correct, I wanted to point out that that form is the appropriate title for the Critic Reviews tab/subpage; e.g. for Left 4 Dead 2, you used said title for the link http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-360/left-4-dead-2, while it should rather be http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-360/left-4-dead-2/critic-reviews, where the title is also presented as-is. If you would rather keep the toppage link, "X for Y Reviews" would be the preferred title. Cheers! (please ping me in case of reply) Lordtobi (✉) 19:40, 4 April 2017 (UTC)

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:16, 1 June 2018 (UTC)

I'm a Rise against fan as well (not a huge fan lol), so I checked your userpage and saw you've improved a LOT of rise against articles to GA. :O While I can't review them personally cause I'd want them to be GA, good luck with these nominations! --MrLinkinPark333 (talk) 00:18, 6 July 2019 (UTC)

Hello. If you have some time, there are a couple of FLCs that could use additional comments: Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/Muddy Waters discography/archive1 and Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of songs recorded by Jimi Hendrix/archive2. Also, I see you've been working on Born Under a Bad Sign. I think there's enough written about this album to make it a GA. I have some ideas, if you want to pursue it. Thanks. —Ojorojo (talk) 15:36, 23 September 2019 (UTC)

The first person to review a GAN of mine that passed, and one that's withstood the test of time (at least while I've been here). An avid Rise Against fan who I reviewed several articles for, and who even did some more for me. It's been a pleasure to work with you, Hobo.
With all my GANs and GA reviews now completed, however, I've decided I need to step away from Wikipedia, with all the reasons listed there. This time it'll be for actual good (at least for a long time, and I may not ever return as a regular but we'll see), I attempted that once. I've felt that I've been a bit more of an annoyance to other editors, and sooner or later, I'm probably going to wear out my welcome if I continue anyway, as I'm meeting more and more who I come into regular conflict with. It was great knowing you, and good luck with all you do. Thanks for being a great editor. \m/ dannymusiceditor oops 16:32, 11 January 2020 (UTC)

Hello,
A month ago, or so, a reviewer decided to open multiple GA review articles. He passed them withouth respecting guideles or giving us enough time to adress most of the comments and doubts we had. Since I reviewd an artcile of yours and other articles that you nominated in the past, I was wondering if you could give me a hand here. I had two nominations that suffer from that, so you can choose either "Finesse (song)" or "Bruno Mars: 24K Magic Live at the Apollo", or both is completly up to you. Nevertheless, I'm aware they are all GA status, but I strogly believe you could elevate the status of said articles as we are two experienced useres and our approch to said articles would be better and they would stay far from scrutinity or doubt. A discussion should be formed in the article talk page as some sort of second review. Please let me know if you are interested in something like this or not.
Kinds regards, MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 18:50, 9 February 2020 (UTC)

(/b/ is better than /mu/ by the way, but that's neither here nor there)
(For context, on the In the Aeroplane over the Sea article, I edited the article to have the cover be a potato, not a drum head (Which it is).)

Why did you remove info about the TV broadcast of Dallas Braden's perfect game from the infobox seen in the article of said game? "Because Glen Kuiper used the N word" is not at all a good reason - just because he did that doesn't mean the article shouldn't mention he provided play-by-play for that game. It's like if you removed Thom Brennaman's name from Randy Johnson's perfect game just because he let out the other F bomb - and not the one most people think of. 100.7.34.111 (talk) 14:15, 5 November 2023 (UTC)

The article John Montgomery Ward's perfect game you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:John Montgomery Ward's perfect game for comments about the article, and Talk:John Montgomery Ward's perfect game/GA1 for the nomination. Well done! If the article has never appeared on the Main Page as a "Did you know" item, and has not appeared within the last year either as "Today's featured article", or as a bold link under "In the news" or in the "On this day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear at DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On this day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add ((NoACEMM))

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Fallout 3, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page The Escapist. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
