Greetings, DreamRimmer. You are receiving this notification because you've agreed to consider endorsing prospective admin candidates identified by the process outlined at Administrators without tools. Recently, the following editor(s) received this distinction and the associated endearing title:
Hi, you reverted my changes to Hanja Kochansky's article because I didn't cite them. The changes were accurate though - she was a personal friend and she died on 10 January 2022. I can't find an online source to verify that though. Visit www.fictionontheweb.co.uk! (talk) 09:11, 8 March 2024 (UTC)
@Getareaction, we must not add death information unless it has been confirmed by a reliable source. Your addition was completely unsourced, which is why I reverted it. The link you provided has no information about her.
If you are a personal friend of hers and have evidence to confirm her death, you can contact the team of volunteers at info-en-q@wikimedia.org, providing a link to the page and details of the problem. Please refrain from sending any private information unless they specifically request it. – DreamRimmer (talk) 09:50, 8 March 2024 (UTC)

Dear DreamRimmer, Hello, I recently created an article releated to WP:NPOL of Uttar Pradesh and after a long wikibreak, today I've created this article, so, please review my article, if you see any probelm in my article, then ping meThanks. ~~ αvírαm|(tαlk)17:46, 7 March 2024 (UTC)
Hello and welcome back to activity after your wikibreak. I noticed some grammar problems in this article, which I fixed and marked it as reviewed. – DreamRimmer (talk) 11:06, 8 March 2024 (UTC)
I am unable to review it because most sources are in Kannada, which I don't understand. But don't worry, it's in the queue and will be reviewed by a reviewer soon. – DreamRimmer (talk) 11:16, 8 March 2024 (UTC)

Dear DreamRimmer,Hello, Can get autopatrollers right here; I do not know and I'm eligible for this rigt here, I've created 50+ article, I happy to work on here but If I created any article then I waiting for review many times, I do not why I have not autopatrollers right here and I needed to only mark as autopatrolled of our newly creation article. I ask only Question but We really do not request for this right here.I do not need to obtain this right.😊~~ αvírαm|(tαlk)15:34, 9 March 2024 (UTC)
@Aviram7, the autopatrolled right is typically granted to users who consistently produce clean articles. However, upon reviewing your articles, I found many grammar mistakes. Additionally, your articles are often stubs and primarily focus on politicians, particularly MLAs, making them very easy for reviewers to assess. Nevertheless, I don't want to discourage you. If you believe there are good reasons for having this right, you can try requesting it at PERM/AP. – DreamRimmer (talk) 04:40, 10 March 2024 (UTC)
Hmmm... I always focused to created good article on Wikipedia, I know I'm not a native speaker of English language but I try to rectifying my mistake again, I very well know Hindi but I like to work on enwiki; I don't think I have any reason to obtained autopatrollers rights because They are denied 2 times my request on there from two different reasons; I will happy if I obtained WP:APAT but we happy without them, I know my article creation techniques and my created article are not included in the list of good article. 😊~~ αvírαm|(tαlk)05:51, 10 March 2024 (UTC)
Hello, how do I edit a page. I'm trying to add & update Calico Club Lander Cnty Nevada as a listed legal brothel. --Laurel4659 (talk) 06:23, 10 March 2024 (UTC)
@Laurel4659, If you want to edit the List of brothels in Nevada article, start by finding the "Edit" button at the top of the article. Once you click on it, the editing interface will open up, allowing you to make your changes directly to the content. Make sure your edits are accurate and supported by reliable sources. Don't forget to summarize your changes in the edit summary box provided. After reviewing your edits, click "Publish changes" to save them to the page. – DreamRimmer (talk) 06:35, 10 March 2024 (UTC)

Changes later this week
The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 12 March. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 13 March. It will be on all wikis from 14 March (calendar). [1][2]
After consulting with various communities, the line height of the text on the Minerva skin will be increased to its previous value of 1.65. Different options for typography can also be set using the options in the menu, as needed. [3]
The active link color in Minerva will be changed to provide more consistency with our other platforms and best practices. [4]
Structured data on Commons will no longer ask whether you want to leave the page without saving. This will prevent the “information you’ve entered may not be saved” popups from appearing when no information have been entered. It will also make file pages on Commons load faster in certain cases. However, the popups will be hidden even if information has indeed been entered. If you accidentally close the page before saving the structured data you entered, that data will be lost. [5]
Future changes
All wikis will be read-only for a few minutes on March 20. This is planned at 14:00 UTC. More information will be published in Tech News and will also be posted on individual wikis in the coming weeks. [6][7]
@Ricco Baroni, I'm sorry, but I am unable to verify these sources, so I cannot mark it as reviewed. Whenever you have an article with English sources, feel free to ask for a review, and I would be happy to take a look. – DreamRimmer (talk) 18:54, 12 March 2024 (UTC)
I have put English sources where he competes at the international level. You can take a look. About his national titles, i could not find any sources in English, sorry. – @DreamRimmerRicco Baroni (talk) 21:52, 12 March 2024 (UTC)
No big deal but it seems as if the bot did not count sources added in March. Perhaps it was programmed to disregard edit summaries tagged for FEB24 after February 29? In my case, I would have moved into the next higher category. That was not the main purpose of the drive and since it appears no one else has mentioned this, it seems of no consequence for anyone. Thanks for putting this together. I think the participants did an admirable job. It seems to me it would be difficult to find references for many of these articles, especially the stubs on obscure subjects. Some of the ones I checked certainly fall into that category. Donner60 (talk) 22:03, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
@Donner60, apologies for the delay in getting back to you. Yes, the bot counted the summary points until March 1st and the reviews until March 8th. Everyone involved did an excellent job, and your contribution to this drive was truly remarkable. I want to extend my thanks once again for joining in and helping to make this drive a success. – DreamRimmer (talk) 11:34, 13 March 2024 (UTC)
RFA2024 update: no longer accepting new proposals in phase I
Hey there! This is to let you know that phase I of the 2024 requests for adminship (RfA) review is now no longer accepting new proposals. Lots of proposals remain open for discussion, and the current round of review looks to be on a good track towards making significant progress towards improving RfA's structure and environment. I'd like to give my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has given us their idea for change to make RfA better, and the same to everyone who has given the necessary feedback to improve those ideas. The following proposals remain open for discussion:
Proposals 3 and 3b, initiated by Barkeep49 and Usedtobecool, respectively, provide for trials of discussion-only periods at RfA. The first would add three extra discussion-only days to the beginning, while the second would convert the first two days to discussion-only.
Proposal 5, initiated by SilkTork, provides for a trial of RfAs without threaded discussion in the voting sections.
Proposals 6c and 6d, initiated by BilledMammal, provide for allowing users to be selected as provisional admins for a limited time through various concrete selection criteria and smaller-scale vetting.
Proposal 7, initiated by Lee Vilenski, provides for the "General discussion" section being broken up with section headings.
Proposal 9b, initiated by Reaper Eternal, provides for the requirement that allegations of policy violation be substantiated with appropriate links to where the alleged misconduct occured.
Proposals 12c, 21, and 21b, initiated by City of Silver, Ritchie333, and HouseBlaster, respectively, provide for reducing the discretionary zone, which currently extends from 65% to 75%. The first would reduce it 65%–70%, the second would reduce it to 50%–66%, and the third would reduce it to 60%–70%.
Proposal 13, initiated by Novem Lingaue, provides for periodic, privately balloted admin elections.
Proposal 14, initiated by Kusma, provides for the creation of some minimum suffrage requirements to cast a vote.
Proposals 16 and 16c, initiated by Thebiguglyalien and Soni, respectively, provide for community-based admin desysop procedures. 16 would desysop where consensus is established in favor at the administrators' noticeboard; 16c would allow a petition to force reconfirmation.
Proposal 16e, initiated by BilledMammal, would extend the recall procedures of 16 to bureaucrats.
Proposal 17, initiated by SchroCat, provides for "on-call" admins and 'crats to monitor RfAs for decorum.
Proposal 25, initiated by Femke, provides for the requirement that nominees be extended-confirmed in addition to their nominators.
Proposal 27, initiated by WereSpielChequers, provides for the creation of a training course for admin hopefuls, as well as periodic retraining to keep admins from drifting out of sync with community norms.
To read proposals that were closed as unsuccessful, please see Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/2024 review/Phase I/Closed proposals. You are cordially invited once again to participate in the open discussions; when phase I ends, phase II will review the outcomes of trial proposals and refine the implementation details of other proposals. Another notification will be sent out when this phase begins, likely with the first successful close of a major proposal. Happy editing! theleekycauldron (talk • she/her), via:
@XEditKingTekker, Welcome to Wikipedia! You can view all your contributions here. If you want to confirm whether your contributions are still present, you can review each edit separately or just look for any Reverted tags. – DreamRimmer (talk) 16:26, 14 March 2024 (UTC)

I'm Dhafer Youssef, Vocalist and Oud player who would love to update his artist profile on Wikipedia.
To start with, I'd like to update the main picture of my profil and then update the biography, enrich my discography, add the prizes I won, add the collaborations I made...
Could you please advise about the main picture update? It seems that I'm not allowed to do it.
Wikipedia isn't meant for posting artist profiles like other music streaming services do, and creating autobiographies on Wikipedia is discouraged. Please read WP:AUTOBIO for detailed information on why you shouldn't create one. Also, if you're notable, there's no need to worry; someone will likely create an article for you at some point. – DreamRimmer (talk) 16:20, 14 March 2024 (UTC)
Not yet. We'll need another week for improvements because there are still some citations needed tags and clarity issues to address. – DreamRimmer (talk) 17:00, 18 March 2024 (UTC)

Hi - you removed my question to a responding admin after a little over 24 hours - is that the threshold for stale? The admin (@Secretlondon:) who initially responded to my report has not edited since I posed a follow up question. I am genuinely trying to understand why the username should not be considered "blatantly violent". Regards, Goldsztajn (talk) 12:47, 20 March 2024 (UTC)

@Monhiroe, I have marked three of them as reviewed and tagged one with a maintenance tag. I suggest using reliable sources, and also, there were quite a few minor mistakes in the articles, so please improve those. – DreamRimmer (talk) 15:43, 23 February 2024 (UTC)
Hi. Hope you are doing well. Two of my last articles: Pariah (2024 film) and Mirza: Part 1 - Joker don't show up their Wikipedia pages when I search them on Google. These are the two articles which I created by myself without submitting it for a review. I think this is happening because the pages have not been reviewed. I guess it was my mistake to not mark the pages for a review. I will do that from the next cases.
So will you kindly review these 2 movie pages and take the necessary steps as required.
I'm unable to verify Bengali sources since my translator isn't working well, so I can't assist with the review. But don't worry, these articles are in the queue and will be reviewed soon. – DreamRimmer (talk) 05:35, 25 March 2024 (UTC)

Just wanted to let you know that in the GA accepted version one half of an image was cut off the page [21] and the image was drastically huge. Is the image even needed when the production section is so short?
@DareshMohan, Thanks for the message. It's up to you to use an image in a section; I have no hard opinion on it. The article was MOS compliant, and using citations in the lead is not prohibited. – DreamRimmer (talk) 04:24, 25 March 2024 (UTC)
I'm surprised the article even passed GA. The refs are so badly formatted (such as missing website and date fields) and not all of them are even archived, thus there could be dead links. Ok the prose has no issues, but I can't fix the refs from mobile and IABot is down. DareshMohan, you got time? Kailash29792(talk)10:57, 25 March 2024 (UTC)
@Kailash29792, I am a little puzzled about why you are surprised the article passed GA. The reference format isn't really all that bad, and folks usually follow their preferred format. Most of the sources, I personally checked and found them to be good. You don't have to archive all the references; only the dead URLs need to be. If there happen to be any at the moment, I'd really appreciate your help with that. Also, each GA reviewer evaluates things based on their own judgment. So, if you've got any suggestions or advice for me, I'd be more than happy to hear it! – DreamRimmer (talk) 11:37, 25 March 2024 (UTC)
@DareshMohan: Go to history page of an article. You can see the fix dead links link above. Click on that and log in and give necessary permissions (if it's your first time). Then click start. You can also check the optional add archives to non dead links checkbox too. Happy editing :) The Herald (Benison) (talk) 03:13, 28 March 2024 (UTC)
Question from MaximilienLuc (02:46, 28 March 2024)
Hi DreamRimmer and thank you for being my mentor. I want to write about a topic but found that it was in draft space, and the previous editor seems to stop editing for more than a month. Should I create my new version and submit via AFC or edti on the old draft? Looking forward to your reply. --MaximilienLuc (talk) 02:46, 28 March 2024 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) Hey. Yes, you can edit that draft itself and submit it for review. Just drop a message on the previous editor's talk page, just in case. If you make another submission, it will get declined per duplicate AfC submission rationale. Make sure you edit and submit it per all the guidelines of AfC. Also, if there was any old decline comments, address them too. Good luck and happy editing. The Herald (Benison) (talk) 03:09, 28 March 2024 (UTC)

Backlog update: The October drive reduced the article backlog from 11,626 to 7,609 and the redirect backlog from 16,985 to 6,431! Congratulations to Schminnte, who led with over 2,300 points.
Following that, New Page Patrol organized another backlog drive for articles in January 2024. The January drive started with 13,650 articles and reduced the backlog to 7,430 articles. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 1,340 points in this drive.
Looking at the graph, it seems like backlog drives are one of the only things keeping the backlog under control. Another backlog drive is being planned for May. Feel free to participate in the May backlog drive planning discussion.
It's worth noting that both queues are gradually increasing again and are nearing 14,034 articles and 22,540 redirects. We encourage you to keep contributing, even if it's just a single patrol per day. Your support is greatly appreciated!
2023 Awards
Onel5969 won the 2023 cup with 17,761 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 50/day. There was one Platinum Award (10,000+ reviews), 2 Gold Awards (5000+ reviews), 6 Silver (2000+), 8 Bronze (1000+), 30 Iron (360+) and 70 more for the 100+ barnstar. Hey man im josh led on redirect reviews by clearing 36,175 of them. For the full details, see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone for their efforts in reviewing!
Recruitment: A couple of the coordinators have been inviting editors to become reviewers, via mass-messages to their talk pages. If you know someone who you'd think would make a good reviewer, then a personal invitation to them would be great. Additionally, if there are Wikiprojects that you are active on, then you can add a post there asking participants to join NPP. Please be careful not to double invite folks that have already been invited.
Reviewing tip: Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages within their most familiar subjects can use the regularly updated NPP Browser tool.

Hi, I am User:Bookku, On Wikipedia I engage in, finding information and knowledge gap areas in Wikipedia and promoting expansion of related drafts and articles. Came across your user profile (from WT:ICTF ).
Requesting your visit to My Choice (2015 film) (still a draft in my userspace). As per my initial visit to visit WP:ICTF, WP:ICTFFAQ, WP:ICTFSOURCES I did not find any contentious news site issues but just came across a discussion initiated by you at WT:ICTF
It was a feminist short film which was covered by media due to some controversial feminist aspects so it's unlikely to be case of paid news. But still I request your visit to the draft My Choice (2015 film) and help evaluate sources and let me know if you think any of collated news pieces have any thing doubtful.
Please note usually I do not edit film related articles and keeping up to date on related discussions would remain difficult for me. So detail proactive contribution from users active in film topic area would be of help.
Also help expand the topic areas if you find topic interesting. Wish you very happy Wikipedia editing.
I thought I write down difficulty on hand vis a vis WT:ICTF#Hindustan Times otherwise I will forget later. You may take call on the same as and when you get time.
For the draft My Choice (2015 film) Hindustan Times article Sorry Deepika Padukone, these are not the choices women need by ByJyoti Sharma Bawa, New Delhi is very very highly critical of the short film. I doubt any one will pay for criticism having such level of ideological opposition. As such this article does not have any disclaimer and has an author as you said. But a general advert iphone 15 is appearing before me - but I do not see any prima facie relation of I phone brand with the short film. So I just wish to confirm this want to confirm this won't be considered publishing paid brand post.
You can look into it as and when you get time and give your feed back.
Short film production related couple of detail seem clearer in following news piece like Deepika Padukone's role in short film is limited to "She bookends the film and is also giving the voice over". Which can be confirmed directly with Short film You tube link. Other couple of news articles in other sources are as if she is doing a lead role in short film but that is not so. Hence I would prefer to use this news piece if I get your concurrence.

Hi DreamRimmer! Would you be able to help a mentee with a question they asked in Hindi at my talk page? I don't speak Hindi, and I would rather not rely on Google Translate to have a conversation. @LunaticBFF58, your request was recently declined, so I don't think submitting a new one would be helpful. I've already explained the next steps, but if you feel you're eligible, please reach out to other renamers who handle requests on that page. – DreamRimmer (talk) 05:23, 6 April 2024 (UTC)

Oh, I misunderstood your initial message. Yes, you can submit another usurpation request after a few months once your account is well-established (eg. 2-3 months of editing and 400+ edits). – DreamRimmer (talk) 05:35, 6 April 2024 (UTC)

Wikipedia Rules on Living person Biography
Hello @DreamRimmer, recently i have added some information with reliable reference on Ravindra Singh Bhati, related to his criminal charges, he is a political figure and there are six criminal charges on him but some wiki user removed that information stating that it is unnecessary information , please let me know that is such information against or not to Wikipedia rules. Beacause i think that such information related to political figures should not be hidden from Public. Thanks. TheSlumPanda (talk) 10:06, 26 April 2024 (UTC)

The appearance of talk pages changed for the following wikis: Azerbaijani Wikipedia, Bengali Wikipedia, German Wikipedia, Persian Wikipedia, Hebrew Wikipedia, Hindi Wikipedia, Indonesian Wikipedia, Korean Wikipedia, Dutch Wikipedia, Portuguese Wikipedia, Romanian Wikipedia, Thai Wikipedia, Turkish Wikipedia, Ukrainian Wikipedia, Vietnamese Wikipedia. These wikis participated to a test, where 50% of users got the new design, for one year. As this test gave positive results, the new design is deployed on these wikis as the default design. It is possible to opt-out these changes in user preferences ("Show discussion activity"). The deployment will happen at all wikis in the coming weeks. [43]
Kartographer maps can use an alternative visual style without labels, by using mapstyle="osm". This wasn't working in previews, creating the wrong impression that it wasn't supported. This has now been fixed. [52]

The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 30 April. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 1 May. It will be on all wikis from 2 May (calendar). [53][54]

Hey DreamRimmer, I feel like the blurb for RFA2024 is way too long. I don't really see a need to mention every single proposal that passed but at the same time I'm not sure how to phrase it in a better way. Would you mind looking into it. Thanks -- EN-Jungwon14:20, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
I guess it wouldn't be a problem even if the wording is long. It just felt weird because I've not seen such long blurbs in ANEWS before. You can go ahead and send it out. I still don't have a laptop so I don't want to mess something up while sending the MMS on my phone. Happy editing! -- EN-Jungwon18:25, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
@EN-Jungwon Should we use "Phase I of the 2024 requests for adminship review has concluded. Several proposals have passed outright and will proceed to implementation, including discussion-only periods and administrator elections on a trial basis. Other successful proposals, such as creating tenure requirements, will undergo further refinement in Phase II. Those passed on a trial basis will be discussed in Phase II after their trials conclude. Further details on specific proposals can be found in the full report."? – DreamRimmer (talk) 18:34, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
RFA2024 update: phase I concluded, phase II begins
Hi there! Phase I of the Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/2024 review has concluded, with several impactful changes gaining community consensus and proceeding to various stages of implementation. Some proposals will be implemented in full outright; others will be discussed at phase II before being implemented; and still others will proceed on a trial basis before being brought to phase II. The following proposals have gained consensus:
Hello. I don't see anything about this on the rename request page, (or the username policy page,) so I figured I'd ask you. I'm looking to rename to a username, but this username is already registered in the Spanish Wikipedia, and the Spanish Wiktionary. I tried going through Special:GlobalRenameRequest to rename, but it said it was already taken. I'm not asking you to rename me, I'm just asking, where should I put my rename request? The username is Nyx if you need it. Thanks in advance. BerryForPerpetuity (talk) 12:35, 6 May 2024 (UTC)
@BerryForPerpetuity, thanks for reaching out. There are two types of rename processes: one is a simple rename, where the target account is not already registered, and the second is usurpation, where you can request to usurp a registered usernamet if it is inactive and has no edits, although a few edits are okay. Special:GlobalRenameRequest is only for requesting simple renames. If the target account is registered and you want to usurp that username, then you can submit a usurpation request on English Wikipedia's usurpation venue. (Target account must have English Wikipedia as its home wiki) If it is registered on any other project, you can submit a usurpation request on Meta. Please note that 'Nyx' has significant edits on the Spanish Wikipedia, so it is not eligible for usurpation. I hope this helps. – DreamRimmer (talk) 16:27, 6 May 2024 (UTC)

Interface admins now have greater control over the styling of article components on mobile with the introduction of the SiteAdminHelper. More information on how styles can be disabled can be found at the extension's page. [57]
Wikimedia Enterprise has added article body sections in JSON format and a curated short description field to the existing parsed Infobox. This expansion to the API is also available via Wikimedia Cloud Services. [58]

The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 7 May. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 8 May. It will be on all wikis from 9 May (calendar). [59][60]
When you look at the Special:Log page, the first view is labelled "All public logs", but it only shows some logs. This label will now say "Main public logs". [61]
You shouldn't have tagged this page for speedy deletion after it was moved and I shouldn't have deleted it as it has resulted in dozens of broken redirects. See Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion#Deleted redirects to TM103: Hustlerz Ambition for some of the consequences, just a few of them that editors have asked to be restored. Please never tag a page for deletion immediately after an article page move as it takes a few hours for Wikipedia's bots to change redirects to point to the new article title. I think we both made a mistake here, you for tagging the old page for deletion and me for not asking more question before deleting it. Let's not do this again. LizRead!Talk!02:57, 8 May 2024 (UTC)
@Liz, yes, you are right. Please don't blame yourself; this was solely my mistake. I knew there were some redirects that needed to be retargeted to the new title, but I was on mobile at the time, so I planned to fix them later on the computer. However, in the meantime, they got deleted. But don't worry, I'll be more careful next time, and I apologies for any wasted time and resources here. – DreamRimmer (talk) 03:10, 8 May 2024 (UTC)

On Wikisource there is a special page listing pages of works without corresponding scan images. Now you can use the new magic word __EXPECTWITHOUTSCANS__ to exclude certain pages (list of editions or translations of works) from that list. [63]
If you use the user-preference "Show preview without reloading the page", then the template-page feature "Preview page with this template (what's this?)" will now also work without reloading the page. [64]
Kartographer maps can now specify an alternative text via the alt= attribute. This is identical in usage to the alt= attribute in the image and gallery syntax. An exception for this feature is wikis like Wikivoyage where the miniature maps are interactive. [65]
The old Guided Tour for the "New Filters for Edit Review" feature has been removed. It was created in 2017 to show people with older accounts how the interface had changed, and has now been seen by most of the intended people. [66]

The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 14 May. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 15 May. It will be on all wikis from 16 May (calendar). [67][68]
The Special:Search results page will now use CSS flex attributes, for better accessibility, instead of a table. If you have a gadget or script that adjusts search results, you should update your script to the new HTML structure. [69]

Two columns of the pagelinks database table (pl_namespace and pl_title) are being dropped soon. Users must use two columns of the new linktarget table instead (lt_namespace and lt_title). In your existing SQL queries:
Replace JOIN pagelinks with JOIN linktarget and pl_ with lt_ in the ON statement
Below that add JOIN pagelinks ON lt_id = pl_target_id
Hello DreamWimmer , I can tell that you are a very experienced Wikipedia editor+mentor and that you are pleased to guide me.Is there a strategy you use?If so,what is it?
@Pogh123, Sorry for the delayed response. I don't rely on any specific strategy; instead, I've taken the time to read through all the policies and guidelines. Whenever I've had doubts, I've reached out to other experienced individuals for advice. You are welcome to do the same. You can find all the relevant links here. – DreamRimmer (talk) 15:01, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
Please don't do both with little time in between. From the UAA instructions: Discuss less-serious violations with the user on their talk page so that they can rename or abandon their account in good faith. Templates such as ((Uw-username)) or ((Uw-coi-username)) may be used. If, after discussion with a user, the problem still seems unresolved, a username request for comment may be in order. (bold italics mine.) - UtherSRG(talk)13:33, 20 May 2024 (UTC)
@UtherSRG, COI warning was sent when I reverted their edit and I reported it because it was an obvious violation of the username policy. I understand that we should only do one thing at a time—either report it or discuss it with the user. However, the COI warning message doesn't provide instructions about usernames. Also, I have seen admins processing these types of reports. – DreamRimmer (talk) 13:58, 20 May 2024 (UTC)
I suggest working to improve the information provided to the user on the COI warning (or providing the additional information yourself), then, so that you don't feel the need to immediately report to UAA. - UtherSRG(talk)14:06, 20 May 2024 (UTC)

The Nuke feature, which enables administrators to mass delete pages, will now correctly delete pages which were moved to another title. [73]
New changes have been made to the UploadWizard in Wikimedia Commons: the overall layout has been improved, by following new styling and spacing for the form and its fields; the headers and helper text for each of the fields was changed; the Caption field is now a required field, and there is an option for users to copy their caption into the media description. The HTML used to render all headings is being changed to improve accessibility. It will change on 22 May in some skins (Timeless, Modern, CologneBlue, Nostalgia, and Monobook). Please test gadgets on your wiki on these skins and report any related problems so that they can be resolved before this change is made in all other skins. The developers are also considering the introduction of a Gadget API for adding buttons to section titles if that would be helpful to tool creators, and would appreciate any input you have on that.
Hi! Hope you are doing well. Today morning I moved the article I created - Boomerang (2024 Bengali film) from draftspace to mainspace. But after that a warning was displayed on top of the article which I roughly remember. It said something like "The draft has exceeded 20,157 bytes. If you don't want to lose the edit history of the draft, then merge the edit history of the draft with the main article. An administrator should do this job. If you are an non-administrator, then put this (( )) (I don't remember what was there) on top of the page."
But I thought of closing the window and then put the (( )) on top of the page. But later when I again opened the article, there was no warning. It had disappeared.
So, can you please see the matter and take the necessary steps so that the article and the history remains.

Several bugs related to the latest updates to the UploadWizard on Wikimedia Commons have been fixed. For more information, see T365107 and T365119.
In March 2024 a new addPortlet API was added to allow gadgets to create new portlets (menus) in the skin. In certain skins this can be used to create dropdowns. Gadget developers are invited to try it and give feedback.
Some CSS in the Minerva skin has been removed to enable easier community configuration. Interface editors should check the rendering on mobile devices for aspects related to the classes: .collapsible, .multicol, .reflist, .coordinates, .topicon. Further details are available on replacement CSS if it is needed.

Today's TFA, Felix M. Warburg House, was written by Vami_IV and Epicgenius, introduced: "This article is about another of the great houses that once lined Fifth Avenue in New York. Specifically, this is the mansion of Felix M. Warburg, a Jewish financier who ignored fears of anti-Semitic reprisal to his decided to build himself a big Gothic manor in the middle of New York City. Although the Warburgs no longer remain, their legacy does: the museum is now the home of the Jewish Museum (Manhattan) and the building largely survives as they left it. It's a beautiful building and I hope you will all enjoy it."! - in memory -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:08, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
Doom (2016 video game) - today's TFA is again by Vami - thank you for adding to the soprano deletion discussion, - I learned today that her opera company's biography is "promotional", and using it at all (regardless for what) is not ethical - really? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:54, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
Thank you for offering to do the dirty admin work. I'd like to understand the nature of the conflict you mention, but with links to a deleted article, it's hard to verify. For your tireless editing contributions throughout the years, any barnstar is long overdue. However, I am issuing you this barnstar for your attitude, response to criticism, and your self-retraction of your request for adminship, acknowledging your need for improvement. Keep working at it! Thanks,NeuropolTalk17:52, 31 May 2024 (UTC)
Adding to the above to say thanks for the many excellent contributions over time and I hope you stick around to make many more after what must have been a fairly unpleasant RfA. There is certainly some brisk but well-meant advice in the oppose section which will be useful if you choose to nominate again. There's also some over-the-top stuff which can be disregarded: I'll leave it to you to sort one from the other! Either way, all the best with continued editing and hope to keep seeing you around UAA. -- Euryalus (talk) 00:00, 1 June 2024 (UTC)
