In recent years, there has been a national shift toward outlawing the sale of flavored tobacco, starting with the ban on flavored cigarettes in 2009. One study, the FDA’s Population Assessment of Tobacco and Health, suggested that many tobacco smokers reported that their first tobacco product was flavored, particularly 80% of smokers ages 12-17 and 75% of young adults ages 18-25.[1]
