Tampon Tax Break in New Jersey
An empirical study on New Jersey's 2005 tax break on menstrual products (tampons and other sanitary pads) benefitted both low- and high-income consumers.[2] The study found that prices for consumers decreased by more than the amount of tax, suggesting that removing tampon taxes can make menstrual products more affordable for low-income consumers.
