So I have changed 2 templates to navbox collapsible, mainly I think that there seems to be way too much crufting on Microsoft and I am thinking should we discuss on merging on many of the template and converting the too technical templates to Infobox for better balancing.
I mean it seems like the more you try to separate the templates into different sections that is too hard for the general viewers to understand, the more crufting vandalism you are going to cause.
I mean look at Template:Microsoft and how many article need to be protected everytime when Microsoft announce something.
The Web and Gaming section seems too technical.
-The Web really can be summed up into Window Live, MSN and other websites. Things like Hotmail, Window Live (ID, Spaces), these are just franchise / platform. Or social networking / cloud computing as some claims.
Since the template is still alive, we can't change this page but you can change Template talk:Microsoft/doc/sandbox if you are in a hurry to start. Actually, please do. I am not sure I realize exactly what you propose. I misunderstood you once, right?
Conversion to a navbox format allows placement of the template interlink template on template doc pages' see also sections, which allows those templates that have need of further documentation (such as parameters; restrictions on use; etc) to have their own documentation subpages without needing to copy the contents of this doc page over to their own see also sections.
Which allows this doc page to be used as it currently is, to interlink Microsoft templates that have no need of additional documentation, and would then use the generic doc page.
This would also make it like other template interlink navigation templates.
Hi. A switch, as its name suggests, does the job of switching specialized documentation on and off for the template that you want. This way, all this redirecting things won't be necessary. Not only it is easier, it leave the name of Template:Microsoft for possible future use, in case someone wanted to have a shorter template name for the company-specific infobx.
