Needs something to convert metric (mm, kg) to US customary units (inches, pounds). This article is about an American, and most Americans don't know the metric system.
Yes, Schirra was an American, but the international community, including American scientists, use the metric system. It is appropriate to use the metric system in this case, and the article reflects that. It would be reasonable to include parenthetical remarks of the US unit conversion. Nobody has taken decided to take the time to add it. When I was working on this article for GA status, I elected not to do it. I don't think the display of someone's ribbon rack adds much to the article's overall quality. Balon Greyjoy (talk) 06:42, 3 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
