vandalism?

Um...im new at this, so please forgive me for any mistakes in this post. taskmaster's abilities box thingy says "the super ability to rifle through space bins". if this IS vandalism (i popped on this page by chance...), can someone please fix it. thanks. Hyakurai (talk) 04:37, 27 April 2008 (UTC)hyakurai[reply]

Thanks for the heads-up, but I don't see it on there and there are no registered edits for the last few days. -Fuzzy (talk) 11:56, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mutant?

Periodically, we've had people editing the page to say that Taskmaster is a mutant. Perhaps there's been a retcon that I missed, but as far as I know, this is not the case. Consider the following:

The X-Men: Children of the Atom sourcebook released by Marvel in 1986 listed Taskmaster (Anthony) as a mutant, by the way, as did a reference when a mutant detector detected a mutant in the vicinity in Avengers, which was initially believed to be Mystique, except she had on a scrambler. [I apologize, my "Enter" key is broken] But Taskmaster is NOT A MUTANT. This was discussed in Agent X and Deadpool respectively.

Would it be a good idea to upload a pic of UDON's rendition of Tasky? I always thought that one looked way better than his pirate/skeleton outfit myself... 207.118.76.99 01:01, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It probably does (not much can make Pirate Tasky look good) but Pirate is how most peeps remember him...
No doubt, but seeing how the article mentions UDON's changes, shouldn't we show it? (Example: http://images.wikia.com/marveldatabase/images/8/88/Taskmaster_003.jpg) 207.118.72.13 00:05, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I might be misremembering, but I thought there was something near the bottom of the "Powers" section that mentioned him being able to partially replicate super speed by slowing down a video. Am I mistaken?

Taskmaster actually sped up a video by 2x and found out that he could replicate that speed in his Taskmaster Mini-Series by UDON. That might be a good thing to add to show readers how far he can take his photographic reflexes. 207.118.71.175 18:37, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bibliography

Does anyone have a list of the books Tasky has been in? Marvel's own wiki is quite sparse -

AVENGERS (v1) #195, 196, 233, (v3) #26 AGENT-X #1-9, #13-15 CAPTAIN AMERICA (v1) #334, (v3) #44 TASKMASTER #1-4

I know for a fact he's appeared in Deadpool and Cable&Deadpool a lot too. Chebbs (talk) 01:32, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Taskmastersite.com (or something like that) fansite maintains a complete bibliography.--Halloween jack (talk) 05:59, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The picture

The infobox pic has gone all blurry and weird. Lots42 (talk) 12:21, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've noticed that happening to a whole lot of images lately. I think there has been an effort to reduce the size of images in general by bots and other users, but this is making a lot of previously fine images look really bad at 250px. 204.153.84.10 (talk) 15:21, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Possible Daughter?

The Avengers Academy Cadet Finesse has been said to possibly be his possible daughter, though after the events of Dark Reign all possible DNA evidence that the Avengers might have to make that connection was lost. She has the same ability and is intelligent enough to come to the conclusion that he might be her biological father as well seeing as it's stated it's not a mutation but just something she was born with. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.181.133.181 (talk) 04:54, 27 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Later on, she actually met up with him and had a bit of a father/daughter talk. Neither of them were sure if they were related, but it was portrayed as being almost certain. If someone would like to look up that issue, I think it would be worth adding. L3reak (talk) 23:18, 29 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sportsmaster

With Taskmaster coming out in 1980 and Sportsmaster having been around since 1947, is it possible that he may be in part based on him in name? Like a souped up version? SM caught my eye because he's in the new Young Justice DC animated series and got me curious. If so it seems like a notable mention on both characters' pages. Alterations

I have made what I felt was some needed changes to the article:

With permission, I would like to make some alterations to the "Fictional character biography" and the "Powers and abilities" sections. I feel that certain parts of these sections are poorly referenced, overly detailed and have an inconsistant in-universe descriptions. - Caged halo (talk) 00:23, 19 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Someone to make an edit

I need someone to put in a citation for me, as my schools IP has been blocked. In "Powers and Abilities", there is a citation needed for when deadpool outsmarts Taskmaster. Citation is - "Cable & Deadpool #38" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.2.39.23 (talk) 15:03, 31 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone please insert that the character fighted versus a lot of Marvel heroes like the second Ant-Man (see Avengers, Marvel Team-Up...), Captain America (For example during the Siege storyline), Deadpool and the Avengers? Thanks.

birthplace dispute

Hey, I realize how overly picky this must sound. I have a copy of Avengers 196 with me right now and it's saying he grew up in the Bronx, not Brooklyn. I realize this is hyper hyper granular. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.239.156.219 (talk) 19:34, 30 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation

When searching for what jobs a literal taskmaster performs on Wikipedia, I got the comic book (villain?). I'm a big fan of Taskmaster, but, you know, not what I was looking for. There's a link at the top of this article so that I can jump to Kevin Sullivan (Wrestler), but nothing that would lead me to the Wiktionary entry for 'Taskmaster'. Since I doubt we'd want to link to Wiktionary here, I'd suggest we should link to a Taskmaster disambiguation page for both Taskmasters and the Wiktionary entry. I don't know how to do this, myself. Any takers? Jmgariepy (talk) 05:42, 27 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

And it is very unlikely to have a dab page to just add a word definition. - J Greb (talk) 15:33, 27 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, then if that is unlikely, than we should add the link to the dictionary definition to the top of Taskmaster's page. That is what a Taskmaster is, after all. You should be able to access that information from some link on Wikipedia. Unless, perhaps, you have a better suggestion of how, when a person types the word 'Taskmaster' in the search bar could end up at the dictionary definition of the word? Jmgariepy (talk) 09:00, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
That's really not a goal of wikipedia. Use wiktionary, or google... 149.31.79.212 (talk) 19:57, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You have to add that the Taskmaster first appeared as a villain of the second Ant-Man and the Avengers. 51.179.111.248 (talk) 08:21, 26 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Taskmaster (comics)Taskmaster (Marvel Comics) – The current title fails WP:NCCOMICS. Per that guideline "(comics)" should no longer be used for characters. Taskmaster (character) is ambiguous, so using the publisher for disambiguation seems like the best choice. BegbertBiggs (talk) 19:32, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

– Per WP:NCCDAB, the disambiguator (comics) should only be used for "articles primarily about a publication". Currently, the target article is a disambiguation page with this character and a professional wrestler, but this can be solved using hatnotes, as this is a WP:TWODABS situation, and the "Taskmaster" is one of many ring names for the wrestler. Natg 19 (talk) 07:42, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Note: Taskmaster (character) titles a page with content and so it must also be dispositioned. If this request is granted, then Taskmaster (character) may be deleted or moved to Taskmaster (character) (disambiguation) and tagged with ((One other topic)) in accordance with WP:ONEOTHER.
