1969 and 1973 versions of Space Oddity

[edit]

Two different recordings, two different versions. The article needs to clarify this in more depth. Dickie birdie (talk) 15:58, 11 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If the 1973 re-release was indeed a re-recording, you'll need to cite reliable sources. Till then I've reverted your additions. Cheers, Ian Rose (talk) 22:55, 11 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

"In 2018 SpaceX launched Elon Musk's Tesla Roadster atop of the Falcon Heavy with this song playing in the car's vehicle audio during maiden flight."

Contrary to what is written in the press, it seems to be "Life on Mars?", it is the song broadcast on the live Space X and the lyrics were tweet by the account @SpaceX_Starman. https://twitter.com/SpaceX_Starman/status/960946773467549697 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:660:6101:402:6D13:684F:EB77:21E1 (talk) 15:51, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove the reference to Star Trek:Discovery in Popular culture. If you don't consider Memory Alpha to be a reliable source, fine, let me know here and I'll find something more suitable, but shouldn't the rendition of the song in the episode itself be considered as reliable source as one can hope for? Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.136.104.13 (talk) 18:04, 21 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Psychedelic

[edit]

How on Earth is this song psychedelic? It should be re-defined as space rock. --123.2.142.50 (talk) 22:29, 3 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It shouldn't because it's not. – zmbro (talk) 16:40, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox release date

[edit]

@Richhoncho: per Template:Infobox song#released "Generally, later releases or in secondary markets, reissues, on compilations, etc., should only be included in the body of the article." Ellokk (talk) 14:07, 16 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

space rock

[edit]

Can we put "space rock" under genres? Wolf O'Donnel (talk) 06:20, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Unless you have a source that supports it, no. Even then, this song is not space rock. Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd is space rock. David Bowie is not. – zmbro (talk) 16:38, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge of Ragazzo solo, ragazza sola into Space Oddity

Same song, same artist, different language, Richhoncho (talk) 11:17, 20 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Richhoncho Are we ok to close this? – zmbro (talk) 03:48, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
