I've just removed a series of edits that were at least in part sourced to Hind Da Ithias (History of India- Delhi State Library). My concerns relate to reliability and verifiability.
Regarding reliability, we need to know who wrote the book, who published it and where, when it was published, the ISBN number (if one exists) etc. What sort of expertise does the author have regarding caste history? Bassically, what makes it an authoritative source?
In respect of verifiability, I was concerned that the source seemed only to be cited for one paragraph but much more content was added in the various edits. I'm not sure that the uncited content is even worth retaining but, for starters, where did the information come from?
I really think we may need to see a translated copy of the relevant page(s) because there has been a lot of nonsense written about caste origins etc, certainly since the early 1800s right through to the modern day. The recent additions may be ok but given the tendency for caste puffery etc, we need to tread carefully when poorly-cited information is added. - Sitush (talk) 17:04, 18 June 2014 (UTC)
Don't provide fake information about Solanki. All SOLANKI were kshatriya who are now working in many occupation to feed their family like darji, engineer, doctor, actor, politician. they are working according to their current situation like other does to feed thier family. If you keep misguid everyone by fake information, then mention for all surname like Sharma, upadhiyay, tiwari, rai, Sen, Patel etc. All working in many occupation in present days. SO DON'T DEVIDE SOLANKI COMMUNITY. Appi53007 (talk) 19:29, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
