Where is the term "Canaanite gene" in the article cite as a ref? I did a google search, but all it brought back were copies of the Wikipedia entry. Tiamat 00:32, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
i think its notable, in and of itself; there is a reference and the term "canaanite gene" seems to be more historically accurate than "phoenician gene" since the word phoeniciaqn derives from an egyptian word for the area which included syria whilst canaan is a much more ancient word describing lebanon and palestine and may be from a native word (although maybe not). see articles on canaan and phoenicia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.27.216.161 (talk) 21:56, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
also a general reference to Y-haplotype studies might be relevant? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.27.216.161 (talk) 22:08, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
I've replaced the notability tag with a prod deletion tag given that there are no reliable sources attesting to the existence of a "Phoenician gene". Please provide any sources you have in the next five days. Failing that, the article will be deleted. Tiamuttalk 14:21, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
