This article has been viewed enough times in a single week to appear in the Top 25 Report6 times. The weeks in which this happened:
It should be shortened, but throwing out whole sections isn't a reasonable way to do so. Also, the content being at a subsidiary article is not a reason to remove anything: by definition, anything in this article should be covered in its spinoffs. I'd say the development projects and debate sections could probably be brought down to about three paragraphs, and the specific statistics are the best targets for pruning. But we really need an affirmative consensus here before removing text that was written with extensive accompanying discussion, and has been through a GAN and a GAR. PM Modi Received Russia's Highest Civilian Honour For "Outstanding Service"
Plz change "In 2024, during a visit to Russia, Modi was awarded the Order of St. Andrew, Russia's highest civilian award" to "In 2024, during a visit to Russia, Modi was awarded the Order of St. Andrew, Russia's highest civilian award for his effort in the development of the bilateral ties between India and Russia."

My point of view is that the WP:Discrimination project was there for a very long time on the talk page of Narendra Modi. why User:Rasnaboy suddenly removed it without reaching consensus on this matter. You can check the history. Moreover, in the main article, the discriminatory tone is clearly described in the main body of the article. Hence, I have re-added the project; if other editors think the WP:Discrimination project is not required, then we can remove it. There should be proper consensus on this matter. And moreover, why was the was the WP:Hindusim project added? Is he a Hindu spiritual and religious guru like Adi Shankara, Ramakrishna, or Ramana Maharshi? If the WP:Discrimination project can be removed, then WP:Hindusim project too should be removed. He is a religious bigot, which is clearly described in the main article with proper sources. IP, I have no opinion on whether Project Hinduism would be interested, but it does seem weird that this article would be marked as high-importance for Hinduism. High importance for that project means "This article is fairly important to this project, as it covers a general area of knowledge." I'm not sure how Modi could be considered a general area of knowledge for Hinduism. But either way, the inclusion of one project is irrelevant to the discussion of including anotehr project, so please move on.
Your argument for inclusion seems to be that if a person is a bigot, they're of interest to a project that includes bigotry as one of its areas of coverage. I think that's a reach. And it's a silly hill to die on -- even the average editor doesn't see which projects are listed as being interested. It seems kind of WP:POINTY to me, like you want to punish the article subject for being a bigot by including this Wikiproject. Valereee (talk) 13:30, 25 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
IP, I'm going to remove this again while it is discussed. Please do not re-add, or I'll have to block you from this page for edit-warring, and then you won't be able to participate in the discussion. Valereee (talk) 13:35, 25 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I was keen to add the WP:Discrimination project because it has been there for a very long time, and moreover, the article brilliantly states about the religious bigotry of Modi aganists: 200 million Muslims and 30 million Christians inspite of knowning India being a secular state as per the Constitution (Source). This project should be added because of the discriminatory activities that the person has unleashed, as the article clearly states. The discrimination against these two Abrahamic religions is a reminder of Nazi Germany. where Jews were butchered, and here in India, Muslims and Christians are butchered and face massive discrimination. See Violence against Muslims in independent India, Violence against Christians in India & Hindu terrorism. Even in 21st Century India, Nazi Germany like discrimination still exist. True Hindu saints, which I have mentioned above, won't propagate hatred against other religions, nor will an average Hindu guy. Anyway, let's see what other editors have to say. A religious bigot is bigot and we have to say it lound & clear. Thanks and Regards--2409:40E0:4:BB81:4D4D:5887:23B1:CDBA (talk) 15:57, 25 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
IP, your comments above, besides likely violation WP:BLP, represent a misunderstanding of the purpose of tagging an article with a wikiproject template. To wit, the project templates are not a mark of ownership, nor a means to label the subject of the article. Rather the aim is to aid collaborative editing, as in:
Help the project members to coordinate improvements to the articles that are likely to be within their sphere of interest and knowledge, and
Guide an editor who wants help with an article to venues where they may find editors who are interested in and knowledgeable about the article's subject
Since both the Hinduism and Discimination wikiprojects are currently inactive they don't serve that collaborative function, and therefore it's fine IMO to remove the respective templates from this page. (Note that I would argue against removing these projects' templates systematically from all wikipedia article talkpages, for reasons we can discuss elsewhere.)
