I don't know much about this series yet, but wanted to preemptively get a header up with the novels mentioned. I'll add more as soon as I know more. Doceirias04:12, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe we should make this a page for the anime (and first novel) and split the Guardian series off into its own page. The anime is specifically based on only the first book in the series, and the entire novel series has been picked up for translation. Doceirias05:20, 5 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Mightn't it be better if we didn't include the first novel, since details and characters are very different? 16:59, 21 January 2008 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 218.33.138.222 (talk)
The page should be about the first novel, as the original work. The anime expands the book's mid section, but it isn't that different; there ought to be a way we could keep them both on the same page neatly. Doceirias (talk) 20:40, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Adult Swim's bumps have been calling this "Seirei no Moribito" all week long, suggesting that this is one of the relatively few series to be released in English under its romaji name. Should we go ahead and move the article, or wait for it to actually air and see what it's called then? —Dinoguy100018:14, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Follow the link to the Anime News Network at the bottom of the page. The character list will sometimes include voice credits for the major roles. May not have been updates with the English credits yet. Doceirias (talk) 12:58, 22 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I was just adding a free use rationale to the cover image to keep it from being deleted, but it occurs to me that we shouldn't be using the Japanese cover with the book out in English. Anyone have the US release cover? Doceirias (talk) 17:10, 4 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, but Amazon doesn't like us swiping images from them without a link back to their listing. I think. Was hoping someone had picked up the book to scan it. Doceirias (talk) 18:05, 4 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think you're confusing "set in" with "written/published in". The books were originally written and published in Japan, hence the description "Japanese fantasy novels". However, the events of the books are set in the fictional country of Yogo and the surrounding lands, loosely based on feudal Japan (as I understand it). —Dinoguy100022:05, 14 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That would be something to ask the author, since the names weren't changed in the translation (and I'm not entirely convinced that the other names are Japanese, either... just FYI). —Dinoguy100018:27, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Nobody has a Japanese name. The native names do resemble the Japanese alphabet a bit more than those of the imperial family or Balsa's country, but none of those names are Japanese. Doceirias (talk) 16:44, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I guess I can be forgiven for being misinformed when I've only gotten to see three episodes, since those appear to be the only three episodes AS wants to air at a decent time slot.. :p —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.73.70.113 (talk) 06:33, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The latter got enough mainstream reviews, though, especially in the wake of the ALA award, that we may not have to use that last one. Feel free to either digest these in the article or add other review links here. —Quasirandom (talk) 19:58, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
