Lead

• The lead tells us that his term of office as EU commissioner will end on October 31, 2009, but we're now in February 2010 and he appears still to be in place.

• Almost half of the lead tells us about the office he holds, not about Orban. In general I think the balance is wrong in this article, focusing as it does on the role that Orban has held for only a couple of years or so.

Early years and personal life

• "... has passive knowledge of Italian". What does a "passive knowledge" mean?

Portfolio as European Commissioner

• This tell us nothing about what Orban has done or achieved during his time on office, simply describes the job in general terms.

Appointment procedure

• There is far too much detail in this section. The article is supposed to be about Orban, not how he got the job he's held for the last couple of years or so.

• "The portfolio was criticized for being too "light" for such a high-rank official ...". By whom was it criticised?

• "This criticism came from the Social Democratic Party (PSD), Romania's main opposition party,,[19][20][21] the Socialist Group (PES) in the European Parliament[22] and the liberal Financial Times newspaper." Punctuation needs sorting out.

• "I've never seen the FT described as "liberal" before.

Views on multilingualism

• Seems like an awful lot of (unnecessary?) detail in this section.

• He also intends to contribute to the 2008 European Year of Intercultural Dialogue, where multilingualism plays a fundamental part." We're now in 2010.

• "Before the end of 2007, I would organise a Ministerial conference to discuss the way forward. I would then propose a new Action Plan in 2008 to continue work in this area." This section in general seems to have dated somewhat.
