I went back to the main source for this information about his adolescence and young adulthood, which was Canty’s autobiographical article within Booker T. Washington’s book on Tuskegee, and I was unable to find dates for this information. With that said, please let me know if you’d like me to pare this information down.

"In total, Canty was a student at Tuskegee for five years." - March 1886 to May 1890 is a lot closer to four years than it is to five

"He was the third teacher to join the institute's faculty" - Yet later, you say, "When Canty arrived at the institute in 1893, the school had three instructors and 30 students" which, at least to me, implies that there were already three instructors when Canty joined. Now, maybe, this is just the fact that I work early mornings and am never fully awake on Fridays, so if the error is on my end, just ignore this.
I rephrased for accuracy. The sources state that Canty was one of the first three instructors, so I've modified the content accordingly.
The reader is never given the exact date, or even the month, that he became acting principal
The sources unfortunately do not give a month. We know that Hill resigned to join the Spanish-American War effort, and that Canty was acting from the summer of 1898 until Jones' appointment. Also, the WVSU sources just state 1898.
"Canty continued to serve on the institute's faculty until his retirement in 1948" - Still in the machinery department, or in another subject?
I can only find sources that have him resigning as superintendent of mechanical industries in 1914, and then retiring in 1948.

" and was a member of Institute's El Cubo Club" - Unclear what type of organization the El Cubo Club was/(is?)
The El Cubo Club was a community civic organization in Institute, and I've added a newspaper article as a source for this information.

Ideally, this section should include a bit of non-autobiographical information, as well, if its available.
