Derakhshan posted an article in July 2015, sharing his concerns over the future of the Web and his struggles to adapt with new social networking media.
The beginning summary of this article says (since not long): "It is assumed that the whole arrest story of him in November 2008 is a sham and that he has been collaborating with pro-Ahmadinejad groups on the rigging plot of presidential election of June 2009 eversince."
The reference is a blog article belonging to an individual and is solely his personal view of the story. I have no connection to neither persons but I assume that this sham claim is more of a conspiracy theory and it should be proved by a lawful resource rather than somebody's personal opinion!
I therefore removed the sentence! Note that "Unsourced or poorly sourced contentious material — whether negative, positive, or just questionable — about living persons should be removed immediately and without discussion from Wikipedia articles". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.102.65.174 (talk) 16:03, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
Most of the information about him are not right anymore. for example his weblog is not among most visited persian weblogs. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mehrannne (talk • contribs) 16:30, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
I do not want to waist your time and mine for this asshole. so lets finish it for now. . —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mehrannne (talk • contribs) 17:27, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for not wanting to waste my time. Per WP:BLP, I will thus revert to the version prior to your edits, as "Unsourced or poorly sourced contentious material — whether negative, positive, or just questionable — about living persons should be removed immediately and without discussion from Wikipedia articles". Shervink 17:37, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
No, it is not. The wording is clearly meant as a conclusion. Moreover, you need to find sources explicitly saying that he writes against Iranian human rights activists (I know he does sometimes, it's just that there is no sources such as a newspaper or report or whatever saying such a thing). You also have no source for the statement that most Iranians have boycotted his weblog. BTW, a weblog is not considered a proper source on wikipedia. Shervink 10:13, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
I do not understand you. His weblog is used already as a scource in this page, why do not you delete those parts? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mehrannne (talk • contribs) 10:56, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
There are new attempts to vandalise this page by some users including Beatiful Ziba. --Hoder 17:18, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
please please please can we get rid of this page. He is a blogger - he is not a journalist (he's never had his own column, has written VERY sporadically) and worst of all most of this is written by himself including the above! This website should be about knowledge not personalities. DELETE!
This guy is a promoter of Ahmadinejad and the Islamic Republic who knows how to talk the language of 'useful idiots' in the West. He has fooled the gullible people in the West so much that by reading his entry in Wikepdia, people think he is an Iranian dissident! He has even threatened people inside Iran when they have worked with making documentaries. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.243.222.4 (talk) 09:37, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
Removed from the article; not especially relevant to a short bio

The author has lied about Hoders treatment at the Iranian airport, in his interview on CBS he paint a very different picture on what actually happened. Here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOzPrbXWqDw
There are a few unnecessarily long quotes on the page that need to be summarized instead of quoted. There are also a lot of unsourced claims about appearance in media, and generally the page appears to be pro-Derakhshan instead of being neutral. roozbeh 18:10, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
This is a personal vanity page created by Hossein Derakshan for the purpose of self-promotion. It demeans the credibiltiy of Wikipedia.
((subst:prod|Reason))
If every journalist who could be googled was on Wikipedia it would just be a who's who of the terminally vain.
PLEASE CAN WE GET RID OF THIS AWFUL AWFUL INSULT TO JOURNALISTS???? HE IS NOT PUBLISHED REGULARLY - HE IS A BLOGGER. WHY NOT GIVE EVERY BLOGGER A BIOGRAPHY ON WIKIPEDIA EH? HE DOESNT EVEN LIVE IN IRAN - HE'S A WORK-SHY LOSER!!!!!!!!!!! AT LEAST HE IS SAFELY LOCKED UP IN AN ISLAMIC REPUBLIC JAIL. ITS THE BEST PLACE FOR THIS COMPLETE WASTE OF SPACE —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.105.56.128 (talk) 23:11, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
Hoder's now been arrested in Iran. He's a Canadian... anyone who has initiated anything on his behalf please let us know. I've contacted my MP. You? --Jasonnolan (talk) 02:44, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
"However, his account of events were contradicted in an October 2006 interview.[1] In this interview Hossein said his experience with the secret police "was quite friendly and professionally"."
I wanted to check on the validity of this claim that he contradicted himself and went to look for the referenced video. I am unable to find it on the site. Needless to say, a claim that he contradicted himself about one of the important events of his life to that point (being detained by Iran) is important enough that we need to make sure we get it right. Does the source exist anywhere, and does it back up this claim?--Jimbo Wales (talk) 13:27, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
why he is in "Iranian former Muslims" category? Is there any evidence shoing he have changed his religion?Pooya (talk) 10:06, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
I changed this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.126.100.26 (talk) 16:41, 1 January 2014 (UTC)
Someone put in www.roozonline.com as a source to claim that Hoder's release date was 19 November. That's rather vague sourcing. I didn't remove the claim (since it's credible), but I'll let someone else find the specific article on Rooz or another WP:RS - in Persian would be fine if it's a specific article.
The wording I put is also a little awkward, because the Thomson Reuters article doesn't say if the pardon and release were on the same date, or whether the pardon was in January or March 2014, which is hinted at by that article, without a direct claim. But better awkward correct (sourced) statements than elegant wrong ones.

This is a personal vanity page created by Hossein Derakhsan for the purpose of self-promotion. It is full of half-truths and exaggerations regarding many incidents, particularly his alleged interrogation by Iraniann security officials in October 2005. There is no independent source or documentation to prove that he was ever interrogated. His trip to Israel was not groundbreaking, either. Iranian writers and academics visit Israel frequently - Hossein merely received a great deal of publicity because he actively sought the attention of the local press. |
