   I doubt Herb Philbrick, 96-y.o. veteran of Iwo Jima, is notable (altho he can be said to be more than "notable only for a single event": surviving IJ and another 60 years is what has given him a 4-hit flurry of publicity); it sounds the interest in him is local to one state.
