Dear fellow editors, this article contains a lot of external links that are arranged in a weird way, would not it be more convenient for the readers to use simple "click on" links. If that is the case I could work on rearranging them.--LoraxJr19:20, 20 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@LoraxJr: that's the list of clubs, right? Called "List of organizations that will sanction agility" which is confusing. I'd prefer something like "that run agility competitions". Some of the organizations are like the UK and American Kennel clubs which have a number of different activities, others do nothing but run competitions (maybe some training). None of the links qualify as "external links", see WP:EL. And normally such lists only include those organisations with their own article showing notability. What I suggest is remove all the links and move all the organisations without articles to this talk page so that others can develop articles for them. Yes, they are organisation links mainly. I will remove them then and copy here a list. Maybe we should also post them in the "Dogs" project as requests for articles to be created? --LoraxJr16:44, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@LoraxJr: I think ask at the wikiproject - I don't like red links in such lists as they may have been added purely for promotional purposes. I think I'm still a member of UK Agility. :-) Doug Wellertalk17:07, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Doug Weller: By wiki project you mean the Dogs project? Sorry, I am new here. I also do not see a point in red links as they link nowhere. I understand the purpose of lists of articles for creation for editors, but not the red links in actual articles for readers.
@Doug Weller:Cavalryman in the WikiProject Dogs has suggested that the whole article, not only the red links, meet the criteria of notability according to the rules. Should we suggest the article for merging with the Dog agility article or maybe try combining it with the History of dog agility article? What everybody thinks would be the best solution to improve it? I will start removing definetly unnotable red links.LoraxJr01:49, 25 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
My suggestion would be to keep the following links notable for articles:
1) United States Dog Agility Association (USDAA)
2) UK Agility International (UKI)
3) Australian Shepherd Club of America
4) British Agility Association
@LoraxJr: I used to run my miniature poodle (fantastic dog, I miss her) in the BAA and UK agility, where she was at Champion level. Anyway, I agree with merge and have tagged the articles for it. Doug Wellertalk14:14, 26 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Doug Weller: Oh! Poodles are gorgeous! I have a german spitz. Vile little thing. Could you send me a link towards the topic on merging? Or did they make a decision yet? LoraxJr23:39, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Doug Weller: Ok, I have cleaned the article as much as possible as it was advised by you and other project members. I have added citations where possible and deleted everything else. Could you please review my edits. Is there something we should optimise further, or is this enough and we can merge what is left from the article?LoraxJr12:38, 22 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
