Why is this included? Why is it relevant to include a link to that other article here?--h i s s p a c e r e s e a r c h 23:12, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It is relevant because Eddie Edwards is another Olympian famous for being really bad at his event. Is that not obvious?Samgb 13:47, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Wasn't obvious to me. Thanks for explaining it here. I've explained it in the article now. Gronky 16:47, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Name correct

[edit]

The surname is Malonga. Moussambani is the second name. In Equatorial Guinea, the first name is European (mostly Spanish) and the second, African (mostly Fang). Malonga, Éric Moussambani is a fang man.--Kolins (talk) 12:37, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What happened next?

[edit]

Since he (bizarrely) won his heat, what happened to Eric in the next round? Did he compete? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.27.55.215 (talk) 07:06, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You quualify for the next round purely on time, not on position in the heat. --Rumping (talk) 17:07, 26 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"Unprecedentedly slow time"

[edit]

Unprecedentedly for what? The Olympics? This claim should be clarified and cited. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2620:0:1045:F:7CD6:E072:69F9:6E28 (talk) 14:33, 11 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Unprecedently slow for anyone who has an inkling of an idea for how fast swimming is.... 1:52 for a 100 freestyle is almost slower than the US 11-12 national 200 freestyle records... X750. Spin a yarn? Articles I've screwed over? 10:44, 1 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

no picture of him

[edit]

there are pictures of him online, seems odd not have them on his page 2A01:CB1D:8746:7000:740E:C62A:AA26:830D (talk) 23:09, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Split section

[edit]

I would suggest to split Eric_Moussambani#Similarly_acclaimed_athletes into its own article. For a title something like Controversial athlete performances or Underwhelming athlete performances could work. Merging into List of Olympic Games scandals, controversies and incidents is not possible since not only Olympic events are included. Pieceofmetalwork (talk) 06:53, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
